Just c&p'd this from one I just posted on TIP. Please ignore all the "motherfuckers" and death threats. Those only apply to TIP. A few of you expressed interest in joining us for our discussion of The Great Gatsby... so here are the deets: ************************************************
Okay, so I feel like a soldier that has made it past enemy lines! I just ventured back to The Nest to get this information. Where's my purple heart, yo?!
Anyway... REMINDER MOTHERFUCKERS! Friday May 18th (THIS Friday) 7pmEST www.chatzy.com/39754826766084 The Great Gatsby
If smock can log in at midnight while in London, you asshats can manage to be there! If not, I will send the ghosts of F.Scott and Zelda to do my bidding. And truth be told, they have nothing better to do.
If you read it awhile ago, don't hesitate to join us! We end up with some people who have never even read the book, but enjoy the discussion. And even if you read it in high school, I'm sure you remember enough... or hell, the conversation might even jog your memory!

I haven't read it since high school and have read a bit in the last two days. If I can get home from my board meeting early, do whatever I need to do to the batch of wine I started yesterday and have any time left before passing out I should have enough read that my memory will be sufficiently jogged.
I'll keep you guys posted about what we pick for next time. I know you guys didn't get a lot of warning time. I really enjoy this particular book club. So far we've read My Antonia, Watership Down and Flowers for Algernon.
I actually read it twice in high school. Once for class, once on my own. It's my mom's favorite book, so she also likes to talk about it all the time. ;-) I'll see how much symbolism I can remember.
