These maybe silly questions but do you carry a backpack or how do you carry $$/wallet? Are bags/purses allowed on all rides? What's the best way to dress in the summer? long sleeves to block sun or short sleeves? Tips on not getting separated from your child(ren)? Any other tips that would be helpful?

We took a backpack and threw the wallets in there. We also made sure to take water bottles and once of those cooling towels that you can get wet - cut them up if you have little ones so they can use them on their neck/face to help stay cool in lines. There are pockets that can fit the bags on the rides that need them. We always did light, breathe able clothes during summer trips (July/Aug). Short sleeves or tank tops with lots of sunscreen.
If you're staying at a Disney hotel you probably won't need your wallet with you in the parks... You'll have your magic band for charging purchases, etc. we usually leave our wallets in the room safe. In our case DS is 5, so we still take a stroller to the parks. We have a backpack in the stroller with ponchos, snacks, water bottles, sun screen etc. the not valuable stuff- we leave that in the stroller while we're on rides. Then I have a small cross body bag that I wear on the rides... I put our phones, camera- valuable stuff in that so I'm not leaving that stuff in the stroller. BUT if you have a smallish back pack, you can take it on the rides. We go at the end of August when it's hot out...so I do shorts and tank tops for clothes!
As far as not getting separated from kids... I've seen places on Etsy that sell temporary tattoos that you can put on your child with their name or your name and phone number in case you get seperated. Or little metal tags that you can attach to their shoe with your info on it. At Disney the magic band can be scanned to get your info. So with my son being 5 he understands if he gets seperated he can find a worker and they can scan his magic band...

It is my understanding that employees will neither scan magic bands nor call phone numbers.
I've been a part of two lost child incidents at WDW (one mine, one not) and both were handled beautifully and the children were safe and reunited with us easily. I would not be concerned other than telling your kids if they do lose you to find someone with a name tag and tell them they need help finding their parents.
We also have a stroller with us, so we stash a small lunch bag sized cooler with water bottles and snacks in the basket, along with anything else we need like sunscreen, jackets, ponchos. We don't bring wallets because magic band. I have a small cross body purse that holds my phone, Chapstick, sunglasses and ID if I plan to have a drink at dinner. The small purse fits on all the rides. The rest stays in the stroller.

Another idea is to write the info on them and put a liquid bandaid on them. I've seen this suggested on other Disney Forums if you don't want to purchase the tattoos.

You can actually buy temporary tattoo paper and print your own.
We are local AP so we can't charge anything to our MB, but we bring as little as possible to the parks. We always carry ID, one credit card, our APs (just in case of MB failure and because we need it for parking), and we have them in really a small card case that can be stuck in the zipper pocket of my vest if I am wearing it or in my very small crossbody bag.
Sometimes we bring a backpack. Some of the rides have a pocket in front of/under the seat where you can stow your stuff during the ride, otherwise you have to hold it. We don't have little ones anymore, but we used not put anything valuable in it and would just leave it with the stroller so we didn't have to carry it.
I prefer to wear loose clothing with longer sleeves to help protect from the very strong sun, and I feel hotter/sweatier with bare skin. I often wear a camisole/tank with something light/loose over it, and it works for me. DH usually wears a moisture wicking shirt. Same as we do when we are working in our yard. We see a lot of sunburned people in tank tops and it makes me not want to have that much skin exposed. lol
