This weekend we're just kind of planning to relax. We've been busy the past few weekends and I'm adjusting to working slightly longer shifts at work. There's currently a severe thunderstorm going on...eeek.
PDQ Got some crappy news yesterday. Mom's bf has been diagnosed with very early stage prostate cancer. Luckily it is very early and potentially curable. It is still scary and upsetting. With the history of my stepdad's passing 2.5 years ago from a form of leukemia and my dad dying from prostate cancer (many years ago and his was diagnosed very late), my mom feels like it's a terrible deja vu. I feel terrible about the stress of it all. Ugh. Why does life have to be so complicated? Thankfully, she has seen her doc and now has some anxiety meds again.
@blueyes623, that's tough for everyone. I hope all is well for your family.
My friend and I were going to go to dinner, but he's short on cash so he's coming over instead and I'm making dinner. We're also going to drink and go swimming at my apartment's pool. It should be a really fun night! Tomorrow I'm having brunch with a new friend at a delicious looking brunch spot, so I'm pleased with my weekend plans thus far!
@blueyes623 I'm so sorry. Sending you lots of love.
My next two weekends are gonna be crazy. I head up to Seattle to see one of my best girlfriends and then it's off to the dem convention. So I'm taking this weekend easy and lying around, doing some yoga and snuggling with my dog. My introvert is totally showing hahah. I know I'm going to have to "pre-charge" my down time.
I've been invited to a 3 day party this weekend. Last night was adults only. They had a live band and a food truck. Today is "family" day and tomorrow is "leftover" day. Last year I went all 3 days. I'm planning on going today, but I'm debating on whether or not to go tomorrow.
