Pearl earrings for daily wear - no no?

Is it a total no no to wear pearl studs 24/7?  I have a couple of beautiful Mikimotos that I would love to wear but I'm lazy about putting earrings in and out.  Ideally, I'd just slam them in and leave them.  I don't wear makeup or hair spray, but shower and sweat daily.

Oops, this is exactly what I do! They (mikimotos) seem fine to me.

Oops, this is exactly what I do! They (mikimotos) seem fine to me.

I do it all the time but my only warning is that I have popped a few pearls and worn through pairs since they are not made to handle that much wear and tear.

I probably wouldn't wear real ones daily (especially sleeping and showering) but I definitely wear fake ones whenever. But I don't have a lot of fine jewelry, and can't afford replacements, so what little I have is more special occasion. My wedding set is the only fine jewelry I wear daily, because it's insured.

Pearls are the last thing that you should put on, and the first thing that you should take off. They're fine to be worn everyday, but I would recommend taking them off during showering, and when applying any makeup or hair spray. It will greatly extend the life of your pearls.

You shouldn't wear them in the shower.

Thanks all. I found a "starter" pair of earrings in a simple gold ball that I'm wearing daily now. My stupid ears are so dang sensitive and when I finally put earrings in they blew up like watermelons until my ears got used to earrings again. These little gold balls are working well so the pearls will be saved for going out!

Why would it not be okay?? Pearls are my favorite "gemstone" so I wear them a lot. I never sleep or shower with any kind of jewelry on, however.

I have a cheap pair of pearls that I leave in, wear everyday, and don't worry about.
If I'm going out or want something else I'll change to my nice, bigger pearls or whatever else I want to wear for an occasion as I prefer my everyday stuff to be smaller.

Was curious about daily 24/7 wear for pearls, not pearls as a style.
