My sister and her H have annual passes and we are traveling with them in January. We are all on the same reservation (we're staying in a Grand Villa) and we're all linked in My Disney Experience.
Will the Memory Maker with their AP work on our tickets or do we have to borrow one of their arm bands if we split from them?
I had an AP when we went with my SIL and her family for a few days in January. I had one of the new APs that included the Photopass.
We were all linked in MDX, and I was able to download all their photos when I went into MemoryMaker, but I recommended that she also get a photopass card, just in case. we didn't need it, but it was nice to have a backup.

As long as you are linked its fine. DD2's band got scanned a lot at meet and greets and she is under 3 and doesn't even have an AP or ticket, but is linked to us so all of it showed up on our account
Supposedly the new AP MemoryMaker is only supposed to download your photos. Like I said, mine downloaded for everyone in my group, but when I bought it I was told it would only be photos for my band available for download. I'd have a backup in case their system has gotten better--January was right after the switch. I haven't heard if the system has gotten stricter with the AP photos yet.

I was not told that when we activated our APs. Hmmmm

I asked them why--I was upgrading my ticket, so I did it in person--and was told that they wanted to keep parties from getting one AP and then having a huge group all use the same MM.
I figured they were catching on to MM shares, and wanted to make it more difficult, but cast members are also known for giving incorrect information, so I could have spoken to one of those But just in case I had my SIL scan and get a PP card.

If they do cut it off the photopass card is the perfect idea.
They made all APs the same price (got rid of kids) because people were buying just a kids AP for free parking.
