For us, we had everything settled before we went to court. So court was just answering questions from the judge and saying we understood everything. Then she granted our motion. We had to wait for the court reporter to type up the transcript before it was considered final. That took about 2.5 weeks. I had to go review it, sign off on it, and submit to the clerk.
I haven't had my first court date, but it's standard in my state/county. From what my lawyer described it's pretty much filing paperwork/signing things and not really a big deal. Easy for her since she does this all the time.

Most of the time it was just our lawyers in there. We already had a custody agreement through my civil protection order and the judge just agreed with that. He ran through the issues to see which ones we didn't agree which were child support and custody. We didn't have a lot of assets and exh didn't fight me on the house. He also asked what items we wanted so that might be something to be prepared for. We still ended up with a full day trial in the end.
