Ever comment on someone's grammar OLD?

Haha I haven't done this because I usually just ignore those people as bad grammar/spelling is annoying to me but I don't feel like I should judge so better just to leave them be.. but I can't say I didn't judge a little when I was messaging with a guy on tinder recently and he kept making weird mistakes, like he told me he had to go "mow his lornes".. His profile said he was "well educated".. except in spelling I guess?

My BFF and a prior boyfriend were both ESL so I gave them a break but dudes who claim college degrees on dating websites get an eye roll. I don't have the effort. I can't remember exactly but one guy legit replaced one word with another but I got what he was trying to say. Similar to trying to say "voluptuous" and instead put "voluminous".

I think ESL make less of these type of mistakes because we do have to learn the rules vs learning everything by "ear". 

I have seen a lot of college educated friends on my FB confusing then and than and saying, taking things for granite. I guess I am tolerant since it's not my first language.

In Spanish, I cringe every single day with people's grammar. Please go read a book and then we'll talk.

No, I don't. I figure we all slip up grammatically. If it's repeated, then I assess from there. And sometimes phones are to blame for bad grammar. My phone is always trying to change days of the week to possessive. It would have me say, "I'm off work on Monday's." Which is WRONG. It's MONDAYS. Plural! No apostrophe!

I would never consider dating someone who said/wrote "kewl." Ew.

I, too, have issues with spelling/grammar. Some of it you can tell is laziness. Some of it is pure stupidity. I just move along.

My BFF was only in US/DOD school for 3 years so most of her English is by ear from her dad. But my ex was taught around 8 years old in inner city schools in LA so perhaps that's the reason? IDK. I feel like in grade school in the US we are all taught their/there/they're and your/you're.

I guess this is true about learning the rules if you learned formally in class? From when I was living overseas most of my friends who learned English as a second language did it informally, so they never learned rules. Often their speaking would be near perfect minus their accent, but then their writing you could tell they weren't as proficient in English. This was true for some of my colleagues as well.

Anyway, to answer the OP, no I've never corrected anyone's grammar. Even if someone was annoying, I'd just let it go. That's personally just not my style.

Now that you mention, I started thinking about my friends who live in the US and speak English. Reading the stuff they write is not easy at all. When you learn English in a school/lesson setting and have to take tests regarding all these rules, there is less chance of making as many mistakes.
