I'm 48. I have always been thin without working on it. I am now gaining weight mostly around the middle and it doesn't matter how I eat I can't get the weight off. I (sort of) exercise by walking our dog several times a week but could probably step it up. I'm assuming this is related to menopause/hormones since really nothing else has changed. Does anyone have any advice on what has helped them with this issue?? I'm feeling like if I don't get a hold of this it will be a downward spiral that will only become harder and harder.S
I have the same issue. I'm not willing to give up carbs, so I'm learning to be more comfortable with my curves. If I eat right and exercise, I know I won't go away, but it will stay at a reasonable muffin top pudginess. I'm also changing the way I dress so it doesn't accentuate my belly

I stopped weight lifting and I shouldn't have. Before that I was keeping a lot of my muffin top at bay. Seriously, heavy lifting is the best thing for fat loss over time. It's not quick and it's not easy, but it is fabulous. I have to get back to it. (Extra added bonus - people who lift weights as they age tend to break less bones and remain more stable on their feet as lifting promotes less bone loss and more balance)
