I hope you all had a great weekend! Did anyone do anything exciting?
A friend and I took our girls to see Meghan Trainor on Saturday. It was really cute - the girls had a great time. She is seriously an amazing role model for young girls...I was so impressed with that and also her singing live was awesome. Add in tons of sparkle, it was a good first concert for them
Today I leave early to pick up DD and a bunch of her friends from UW soccer camp. I'm looking forward to seeing how much she learns from this.
I feel like we did and ate everything under the sun, this weekend. We haven't had a weekend this "busy" without feeling busy or rushed in a long time. It was well all these events are going on, what do we feel like going to.
We got Pho Friday night, then got Vietnamese Desserts at Bambu. We went to the park and chased pokemon.
Saturday, we went to Biscuit Bitch, a bunch of parks, and the Bite of Seattle. I will say the last few years I've been feeling really disappointed at the Bite. I remember when it used to be you could buy just a small bite from different stands for under $5 and try a bunch of different things, instead now they just have a $10+ entrees, (Like my stupid $10 alligator on a stick). However, we did come across the best thing, the Food Lifeline Fundraiser area. We paid $12 and got "bite" size food from 6 different restaurants (Essential Bakery, Din Tai Fung, and Salty's were among them). They've done it a couple years in a row, but this is the first we've seen it. I would definitely go back just for that.
Sunday, we went to DragonFest, got dimsum, bubble tea, macarons, macaron ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream, then we went swimming.
We have a couple proposals due this week. Work is a little complicated, and there are a lot of politics around a couple people making moves that will just make for an interesting 6-8 weeks. Read: possible promotion.
sotally tober,I'm so jealous you got to see Meghan Trainor. I didn't even know she was in town. I think I saw your IG post, and was like WHAT?! I think she's a wonderful role model, I love her songs.

minion, possible promotion for you? That's awesome. I hope it works out.
This weekend was all about Tman's camp(s) for us. James and I went up to his boyscout camp on Friday afternoon/evening for their Hawaiian night that the parents were invited to. Tman was so excited to see us and show us all around the camp. Oh my goodness, this boy did so much while he was there. His scoutmaster told us that he had a hard night the night before. That he was just overly tired and broke down. I'm not sure what that was all about. We tried to ask Tman about it, but he didn't want to talk about it. He seemed to have a lot of fun in general. James and I got home around 10:30pm and then Tman got home from camp with his troop around noon on Saturday.
He got in the bath for a LONG TIME and then rested a lot while I washed his clothes and got him packed AGAIN for camp. We drove him over to the Yakima area yesterday for camp again. This one, thankfully, is only until Thursday. I was VERY sad to leave him there. I miss him big time. But after this week, he isn't going anywhere for the rest of the summer...except one other weekend away with the boyscouts.
We are going to try to get Tman a new bed while he's gone as part of his birthday gift. His birthday is next Wed. I hope we can find something good and get it all set up...and I hope that he loves it.
Hey y'all. Good weekend here. Shopping with a friend for pony stuff saturday morning. Went to Bony Pony in Arlington and Olsons in Bellevue. Came home and went back out to IK's place for her Bastille day party. Was the bomb even though we left early. Was tipsy because she gave me some 10% alcohol cider!!!!! Sunday morning went to class and then came home and watched a movie recommended by IK's friend called A Little Chaos. Alan Rickman, Kate Winslet. AWESOME. Then lounged about the rest of the day.
At work today. Boss is leaving early today and tomorrow and out Wed & Thurs because she just bought a house and is moving. Good for her! This house buying process has been awful on her! I am glad its finally getting settled.
I have chiro tonight. My f/u exam on Friday showed some good improvement and I am now down to just twice a week for the next four weeks.
Lies. I didn't hand you any cider @aellasbeth! It was available but I didn't even get a taste of it.
Party was great fun, saw some new people attend this year which is always great. Sunday was mostly a "puppy" day for us of lying on the couch, playing some video games. Our houseguest came back from her ragnar race and we went out to dinner then over to Coulon Park to catch some pokemon. With houseguest, it means H is back to sharing a bed with me and geez, I'm so sleep deprived. I wake up umpteen times a night even though I put in earplugs and I can feel my muscles getting all cranky because they seize up when I have bad sleep like this. Left my leftovers on the kitchen counter even though i had planned that for dinner before my massage up on Cap Hill.

You don't sleep in the same bed as your husband on the regular? Why not?

My sleep is generally very poor and I hit a stage in my recovery from the car accident where the terrible sleep was preventing me from being able to heal so he moved to the guest room. We both ended having better quality sleep. Even with earplugs, when another person is in the room, every little thing wakes me up. He also tosses and turns a lot and sleeps better without having to worry that I'm going to poke him for snoring and can toss to his heart's delight. So when I sleep alone, my sleep is middling to poor. When we sleep in the same bed, I'm spend my entire days exhausted and wake up almost every hour at night. The lack of sleep means my nervous system stays spazzed out and all my muscles start cramping.
I'm actually just logging in to my new healthcare system today so see if I can finally get a sleep study scheduled to find out why my quality is so poor.

Does this mean that the doin' it has to be planned out? Much of our doin' it is impromptu due to the rubbing up on one another in bed (we have a full, so we can't help but touch).
Hey all. I had the joys of a last minute vet appointment today, thanks to old man pittie. He was having ear troubles so I called to get him an apt and they had one 15 minutes after I called or it would be a few days, so I loaded everyone up and in we went. Thankfully the place is 5min tops from our house but all three kids and old man was not at all easy. I was hoping H would be the one to do the visit since old man pittie gets very protective of me at the vet. I also had the same dr help that helped with red hound 2 weeks ago, so I was kind of thankful that I got the chance to better thank her for how great she was with that.
Just a weird day so far. Also does anyone know of any deals going around or anything for the Museum of Flight?
I'm exhausted today from my weekend. I can't wait to go home and veg after work! Ugh. It was all fun stuff, so I really can't complain. Just so sleepy.
Saturday, K & I did some shopping, then headed to Kirkland Uncorked. We had a really good time there. Afterwards, we met up with friends of his that was in town. They're super into Pokémon, so we walked around with them for a bit, hunting Pokémon. Its definitely not for me, but the amount of walking they did is incredibly impressive. I still think it's pretty cool. We then went to a bar by my place, and finished off the night there.
Sunday, we went to the Rainiers game. A vendor his company works with was doing an appreciation thing, so free food, drinks & game. It was a really good time. Afterwards, we went back to his place, and I helped him get a couple things hung, he made me dinner while I snoozed on the couch, then I finally headed home around 8.
Things are going pretty well with him... Of course, I'm always afraid to get too attached, but we've been taking things pretty slow, and so far, it's working. We're not officially an item or anything... just taking it day by day and seeing where things go. We had a couple of really good talks that eased some of the unsettled feelings I was having last week. So, we shall see.
dana86, I will take a look. If you wanted to go this past weekend I had extra tickets to the founder's day. We didn't go I was too tired from seeing family Thursday and Friday.
Thursday my brother had his 30th and he wanted to flyboard, well my sister was supposed to plan it out, but didn't. The place on Lake Washington was getting maintenance done. So, the only place ON THURSDAY was Lake Tapps. So, we dragged 3 kids and 6 adults from Whidbey/Mill Creek to Lake Tapps.
My sister lied about paying for the boat so my Mom had to pay last minute for a boat rental (my parents live on the water at Whidbey... we could just go water skiing there). So he could go water skiing, then they called us and were like hey find some water skis on offer up for like $20. I was so pissed. My mom bought him new water skis, and rope and spent like $1000 on HIS BIRTHDAY.
He is such a child it is frustrating. My sister was going to spend the night with me to help me get stuff in order for the baby and he threw a fit. So, instead of cleaning Friday I went to my parents to hang out one on one with him. He had a 15 minute conversation with me and then left to hang out with a friend.
So it was just a shit show like it usually is when he comes. I mean I love my brother but he has the emotional intelligence level of a 7 year old
spa, thanks we are looking at going next week. We haven't been in a couple years and want to check out some of the new stuff they have built, and H wants an excuse to skip work lol
