Thursday randoms

Currently waiting for my dad to get here so we can take DDs and my 2 nephews to the amusement park. It will probably be a full day spent at the water park. Should be fun.

Speaking of water, there was a water main break not too far from me that affected several towns. We're in a severe drought right now and they think that may have played a role. Water was out for a few hours last night and now we have a boil advisory in effect. They said the tests on the water may take 2-3 days. Boo

We told the girls last night about separating. Well H said we were getting divorced. It went about as well as expected. I think they feel betrayed to because he always promised we wouldn't get divorced. He is still not sure what his plan is. I'll give it some time but than he has to go.

I had my first migraine last night. I was at work and noticed my pinkie and ring finger, along with my palm, on my left hand were tingling, like when they "fall asleep." A light headache creeped in. By the time I got home the right side of my head was throbbing. I laid down once home and didn't get up until this morning. All of yesterday's symptoms are gone, but I feel like I have a hangover today.

I'm so glad the RNC is almost over. It's totally consumed my life and I cannot stop watching!!! I have a decently light workload today so I'm going to get some stuff out then finish my laundry and go shopping for some more convention attire. I'm thinking a pair of white cropped pants would be good to add to the mix. Everything I'm taking is blue and white and it's not on purpose. It's literally 90 percent of my summer wardrobe. Oops!

I'm having a awesome interaction with someone from OLD. First attempt at it and it's going almost too well. Looking for the bomb to drop because nothing can be that great.

Our Independence day was yesterday so we have it off. That break right in the middle of the work week is nice but makes it harder to come back.

I will be off tomorrow for a week. I will be going to DC to pick up DD and then we are spending a few days in Cartagena. I got jealous when @wandering was talking about her trip so decided to go visit family. I know I will be coming back even more tired than before though.

Ooof, Karen's post reminded me that a friend of mine told me on Saturday that his wife wants to separate. They have *4* young children.      He doesn't want to separate, which makes me think there might be some infidelity going on on her end. 

I just got my new laptop for work, which means I've spent the entire morning/early afternoon reconfiguring everything and getting all my apps set up. Maybe I'll get some actual work done today. Maybe.

I'm looking forward to and also dreading my Saturday. After work tomorrow we're driving about 2 hours north to a lake for a friend's birthday. But we're driving separately because Saturday afternoon I have to head back home to get ready for another friend's bachelorette party! She asked us all to wear wigs, so I'm wearing this:


It's going to be a LOOOONG day, but should be worth it!

FI went a month and a half without drinking (as did I, in solidarity), and has started to sprinkle regular beer back into his non-alcoholic beer drinking. I'm so proud of him for working so hard at taking control of his drinking. He's admitted that he's known for a long time that he needed to do something about his binge drinking, but he never actually did anything. He's really stepped up and committed to fixing his issues. Like a fucking adult.  (heart)

FWP.  I got a gel manicure last friday and it's already chipping--usually it lasts 2 weeks.  I'm annoyed!  I'm thinking of trying the SNS manicure next. Has anyone tried it?  I used to just do regular manicures (and do them myself in between), but they don't last more than a day or two.  I usually have better luck with the gel/shellac.
