Today I was reminded of one of the only things I hate about living out in the country... a pup was dropped off at our farm on the side of the road. She's a little skiddish but really sweet. My fiance was home to find her luckily, as we're on a road that's 80KM/H and people often go MUCH more than that given we're in the middle of nowhere! Now to start the search for a loving home for this poor baby, as there's no way we can have another animal in the house right now!
I'm glad she found you. This is seriously how my mom gets new cats, since my parents live out in the country, too. Though the current youngest were found by my brother as kittens abandoned in the Walmart parking lot. I hate people sometimes.

FI had all the neighbours asking people they see regularily in the area, there are only a couple dogs for a mile in each direction so we know all the 'regulars' by now. Found out that at the truck shop down the way, a guy was moving his jeep in and the dog got loose, or so he says. Brought the dog to the owner of the shop last night. The dog was happy to see her owner, but I couldn't help but notice still no collar, no nothing
We got our kitten this way, she was one of only 2 kittens that survived in a litter of 6, and Momma didn't make it either, it was SO sad. Jinx is spoiled rotten now though, and the other kitten went to a home where he's quite spoiled too!
That's how my family got our first beagle. She was wandering right by the road, no collar, no microchip, no one knew where she came from. It seemed like she had been scavenging for a while. And we later found out she had buckshot in her side. :/ People hunted in the area I grew up in, and a lot of dogs were thought of as "hunting dogs" or "farm dogs" not as pets.
