growing up a minority, even in seattle, i *knew* i was different. i hope that one day that people are just people, and not "white" or "colored".

Oh lordie, this all the way!! I used to get quite tan as a child. (I look at pictures and exclaim, "Dang I was BROWN!") But now I mostly turn red which fades to slighty yellowy non-white or just pink. H goes from white to lobster and back.

Yup, we'll be on team pastey pale white babies too. H tans somewhat, but I turn pink after 10-15 minutes in the morning/early afternoon sun. But I do have really pretty blue eyes, so I hope they will too

It doesn't phase me.
I grew up as a "minority" I suppose.. Being a military brat most schools are usually about 50%black, 40%white and 10%something Latin or other.
I guess it's great, though. It would be nice to get to the point of color-blindness...

I think that over time what is "white" will continue to be redefined. In earlier times Irish, "Slavs", Italians, and others were not considered white.

Sadly I think eventually the basic line of race will be black/nonblack versus white/nonwhite .

It was only a matter of time before this happened, but it doesn't really phase me. I don't think I never really got that I wasn't white till I was pretty old. In my mind I just happened to have black hair and that was that. I used to tell my mom I was like a banana, yellow on the outside and white on the inside.

I will say that mixed raced babies are the cutest ever. I'm pro mixing the gene pool.
