I love Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil Free Foundation, but it's expensive (for me, anyway.) I was using BareMinerals Bareskin in 'Bare Ivory' but it isn't that great of a shade, a little too...yellowy? I have a drugstore one right now, I think it's a covergirl, but I like a heavier coverage and more of a thicker cream than this is. This one I use now is a liquid. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a drugstore foundation that's heavy coverage and a thicker cream-style foundation? I wear 'Cream Ivory' in the Laura Mercier foundation. I also have really oily skin and am prone to breakouts, which is another reason I want to shy away from the drugstore one I'm using now --- it's causing me to break out. Not like others have, but still more than I'd like.

Have you looked at loreal Infallible Pro Matte? It's pretty thick, but doesn't feel heavy on the skin. It has great coverage. I also like Revlon's Colorstay Whipped foundation, but it's in a pot (instead of a tube), so it's messier.

I don't know. Of all the MU products to splurge on foundation is up there. For the reason you mentioned, I am also super oily and prone to breakouts.
If you really want to try another brand try something oil free. I know Clinique isn't drugstore but it's still cheaper than a lot of products. Their anti acne line is pretty amazing, bb cream, liquid foundation, etc I used to use the pressed powder too. I only stopped bc I wanted cruelty free products. That was the only reason. If that's not a concern then I'd go that route.
Other drugstore - NYX (I just love their products in general). Neutrogena or something gentle on skin like that brand may be good for you too. They make a healthy skin foundation.
Revlon color stay is usually a fan favorite of the drugstore world too. Not sure if it's oil free though
carrotsmakemefat I generally don't have an issue splurging on foundation at least, but with a somewhat high deductible and impending surgery, I need to cut costs everywhere right now. Especially since I'm only getting partial pay while off, too.

I like Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse set with L'Oreal True Match powder. It is full coverage. I had a professional photograph taken last week and the photographer complimented how great my foundation looked, which says a lot about that combo because I have terrible skin in general.
I'm also very oily and I can't say that my combination does much to help that, but nothing really has for me so I tend to use blotting papers and keep extra powder on hand for throughout the day.

When I asked for foundation recs at the beginning of the summer (for a wedding so basically no price point), several people recommended Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless.
I bought it, and I really like it. It's not exactly what you're looking for (it's a true liquid, not a cream), but it is a great foundation.
For reference, my skin is fair (MAC NW 20 or so, Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation in 3.5, Tarte BB cream in Light, and MUFE Ultra HD in R260), and I have the Maybelline in Classic Ivory, but it's too dark, so I need to buy Ivory instead.
