My FP window opens in September but I'm on vacation next week and want to do some research while I have some extra time. But I have NO clue what are must dos. So tell me what I need to know. Here's our plan so far. I need to cancel some of these dining reservations but I'm not sure what to cancel. I'd like one character meal a day unless I'm seriously missing something. First trip to WDW. Girls age 8, 5 and 2.5. Older ones are more into Star Wars than princesses. Baby is a princess nut.
Thursday-Epcot (extended morning hours)
Dining currently booked: Princess Storybook Dining Akershus @ 8:05 am
Chip 'n' Dale's Harvest Feast Dinner at The Garden Grill @ 6:50 PM
Friday-HS (extended evening hours)...Must do all the Star Wars things, incl Jedi Training. Best way to make this happen?
Dining currently booked: Disney Junior Play 'n Dine Breakfast @ 8:10 AM
Disney Junior Play 'n Dine Lunch @ 12:15 PM
Minnie's Seasonal Dine Dinner at Hollywood & Vine @ 4:45 PM
Saturday-MK (extended evening hours, DH and I are having a date night)
Dining currently booked: A Buffet with Character Breakfast at The Crystal Palace @ 8:15 AM
Fairytale Dining Lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table @ 1:00 PM
California Grill Dinner @ 7:35 PM (DH and I)
Def keeping CRT. Is it worth it to do Crystal Palace too?
Sunday-AK
Dining currently booked: Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare @ 8:00 AM
Donald's Dining Safari Lunch at Tusker House Restaurant @ 11:45 AM
Monday--MK (Christmas party tickets for the evening...with ilikedonuts!!!!!!!!!!)
Dining currently booked: Be Our Guest Lunch - QSR @ 11:00 AM Be Our Guest Lunch - QSR @ 12:25 PM <--not sure how I ended up with two of these...which time is better?...and do I want to place my order early?
Tuesday--leaving. If I can get the flights out in the afternoon, I have a breakfast reservation at Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare @ 8:00 AM and am hoping for some pool time before we leave, in which case I'll be cancelling Sunday's reservation at Park Fare to use this one instead.
OK...Thoughts on dining? Am I missing anything I should try to get? And what don't I need?
And with that info, what FP should I be trying to get?
You forgot the most important part of your schedule. That the Christmas party is with meeeeeee.
I would definitely cancel crystal palace.
I would pick either tusker house or the Hollywood and vine dinner since there is so much character overlap.
Fixed that
Any I'm missing then? And can I do an 8:10 breakfast and still make the line for Jedi training? I'd be lying if I said that's not what I'm most concerned about!! LOL.

Cancel garden grill?
Almost all the time they let you sign up for Jedi training before your pre park breakfast reservation. I'd get to the park at 7:30. That way as soon as they let reservation people in you just walk with the kids to Jedi training and then over to your ADR.

Both garden grill and Akershus will have overlap in characters with other reservations you have. If you think A will really love two princess meals I'd cancel garden grill and keep Akershus. Plus then you can get in and out and run to frozen ever after rather then having to FP it. So you can Split your FPs for Soarin' and Test Track (2 for TT and 2 for Soarin' since A will be too short which allows you to do rider swap).
It's way too many character meals for me. I would never waste 2 meals at the same place. I don't even like doing 2 sit downs back to back. Your kids are the exact ages of mine - I think it's way too much.
I'd ditch lunch & dinner on Friday. I'd ditch CRT, too, b/c it's too much overlap w/ akershus and I don't see the point in doing both. but I know that's an UO. I love doing akershus before park opening. Keep the tusker house on the AK day. RE: BOG - are you staying from morning to night the day of the party? If you're going back to take a rest, keep the earlier one. That's probably better for the 2 year old anyway. Remember that toddler is going to be exhausted. I would not have any sit down scheduled for when they are normally napping. Even if you aren't back in the room napping, if they're out & about (not sitting & eating) they're more likely to behave.

I would drop the Akershus if it is not pre park opening.
I agree that is sounds like way too many character meals to me. One a day would be too much. Have you really looked at the characters to see what type of overlap you will have?
Dining currently booked: Princess Storybook Dining Akershus @ 8:05 am Cancel this if it is EMH morning you will waste your time eating. And you already have CRT Chip 'n' Dale's Harvest Feast Dinner at The Garden Grill @ 6:50 PM
Friday-HS (extended evening hours)...Must do all the Star Wars things, incl Jedi Training. Best way to make this happen?- Good explanation of Jedi Training Acadamy Sign up I have heard that recently they allow people to sign up prior to park opening.
Dining currently booked: Disney Junior Play 'n Dine Breakfast @ 8:10 AM Cancel this. I think this could run over and then you end up with missing sign ups for JTA Disney Junior Play 'n Dine Lunch @ 12:15 PM Choose one of these to keep depending on if you want Minnie or Jake and DJ characters.
Minnie's Seasonal Dine Dinner at Hollywood & Vine @ 4:45 PM OR CANCEL BOTH EAT QS AND SPLURGE ON THIS this dessert party gets you a great seat for Star Wars Fireworks AND has a better value than the other parties.
TIP Bring little trinkets to trade with Jawas.
Saturday-MK (extended evening hours, DH and I are having a date night)
Dining currently booked: A Buffet with Character Breakfast at The Crystal Palace @ 8:15 AM Cancel this. I love this meal, but it's too much food with CRT in the afternoon. Instead book Be Our Guest early entry breakfast. You might get an extra ride on Mine Train. And it's much cheaper and less food. Fairytale Dining Lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table @ 1:00 PM California Grill Dinner @ 7:35 PM (DH and I) Remember you can come back for fireworks with your receipt later in the night. Def keeping CRT. Is it worth it to do Crystal Palace too?
Sunday-AK
Dining currently booked: Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare @ 8:00 AM Cancel this. You don't need another character meal. I think the more classic characters would be good. Donald's Dining Safari Lunch at Tusker House Restaurant @ 11:45 AM
Monday--MK (Christmas party tickets for the evening...with ilikedonuts!!!!!!!!!!)
Dining currently booked: Be Our Guest Lunch - QSR @ 11:00 AM Be Our Guest Lunch - QSR @ 12:25 PM <--not sure how I ended up with two of these...which time is better?...and do I want to place my order early?Keep both UNTIL you have your FP plus all set up. Definitely pre order

If you don't have a car BUT you don't mind take an Uber family or have a bubble bum and can take an uber look into booking breakfast at Boma on your last day. It is really different and cool and you can see the animals at AKL. AKL is next door to AOA but there is no way to walk there. An uber would be cheap between locatons.

I thought uber family wasn't in orlando?
Also, she has a 2 year old. A 2 year old can't use a bubble bum. SaveSave

Thank you...this is super helpful. And I didn't know about the SW dessert....There was a short lived SW character lunch that is no longer and there have been some riflings of doing something else but I'm not paying enough attention to have seen it. I just emailed DH to see if he wants to do it. My guess is yes...Unless he's still holding a grudge that he can't do Jedi training himself.
ilikedonuts...want to join us for SW dessert Friday night?
