Hi Ladies!
It's been a while. How is everyone doing? What's new in your lives?

We found out Baby S is a boy! We are thrilled. He is due right before Christmas. Other than that work is status quo for DH and I don't go back to school until August.

In my neck of the woods H is still deployed, but the end is coming very soon. He's due to drop his ETS paperwork in a little over three years now, and I've started having major anxiety that this may not be his last deployment. Please let it be the last one.

On the plus side work is going well for me, and the boys and I have had a fantastic summer. Our new duty station will probably never truly feel like home to me, but that's okay.

DS and I just returned from a week with my parents in Ohio. It was good to get away and equally good to come home.

DS will be in second grade in September. He enjoys school most days and I'm so relieved (he is a major homebody)! I plan to substitute teach beginning in the fall, too. I haven't had a normal job in 8.5 years. I am really nervous. My degree is in early childhood education, but I have not been in a classroom (as a teacher) in over 20 years. ::gulp:: I hope to be able to work in DS's school so my hours sync with his.

DH is doing well as a civilian. He's looking into starting a master's program. It'll be challenging, but it will be great for future career prospects.

I don't really have anything to add. I'm west coast now. I dislike living back stateside after being in SW Asia so long. I want to deploy again (civilian/NAF). I feel like I still haven't adjusted. While I don't "belong" here, I don't know exactly where I belong.

Yay for baby! prettyinpink, I remember when you guys got married! Is that weird??? It doesn't seem that long ago!

Stan, I'm glad your job is going well and you find your happiness again.

brandienee, I am a weirdo that loves PCSing. Just remember you're deep in the suck but it can't be this way forever!

NomadicMama, My old coworker had a degree similar to yours and after student teaching decided it wasn't for her. Now, 9 years later she is giving it a go again. So her degree was never really used and she was able to get a job in elementary after working as an aide for a year and a half.

As for us, H is TDY and due home soon. But he won't be home long as he deploys very soon as well. I'm doing my best to stay busy and line up things to do while he's gone.

I'm training for my first post baby race in a few weeks, a half marathon. We are hoping to squeeze a weekend getaway in before H leaves. We've tossed around going to Paris or Zürich. My vote is for Switzerland, mostly because they aren't in the news for terror attacks lately. It's kind of a scary time to live over here right now

I'm starting a new job on Monday and I'm not that excited. I'm thankful for a job, but it's a definitely a step-down and just another reminder that it will be tough to get ahead in this ever PCSing life. MH is TDY for a few more weeks and I'm so ready to have him back. It's hard cooking dinner for one and talking to the dog is getting old!

Hey ya'll. H isn't deploying. He is switching MOS's though so I'm praying that makes the rest of his contract go smoothly.

Hey all! Texas blows. We have projected orders for April though so I'll tough it out. DH comes home super soon but leaves agin in the fall to go to warrant officer candidate school.

Yep. Switching to motor t. He would have stuck it out because he really loved being an MP in the USMC, but with his guard unit being so disorganized he finally decided to switch.

So I just got caught up to speed after being back from school and omg. That's all I'll say. Insanity. Glad he's reclassing.

Until that happens though he'll be drilling up where you are!
