I did this in my grad school apt. I didn't even have pets at the time! I would be reading, and they would be jumping on my textbook. I would walk around in white socks and they would stick to them. I did a bunch of bombs, sprayed furniture, and vacuumed and they were gone. I did the white sock test and no fleas.

We did and it worked well. We had to stay out of the house for a set amount of time and had to box up a lot of baby stuff, but it was worth it. Good luck.

Frontline used to work on my dog from 2008 until 2011, at which point it became totally ineffective. I had to flea bomb once and then sprayed all the upholstery and carpets with Precor because it damages the eggs and the fleas' ability to reproduce rather than just killing live fleas but leaving the eggs. I then vacuumed everyday for a week and threw the bag away after each vacuuming. Afterwards, I sprayed Precor once every 6 months.
We use Nexguard and it works like a charm. 2 big dogs in a rain forest.
FOr the current flea problem, have you tried cutting up a flea collar and putting it in the vacuum bag? That way any that are alive when you vacuum will die, along with any eggs that are picked up and hatch in there.
Did you use this for vacuuming etc? We got some. I plan to put it in the vacuum canister and we thought about putting it in places we can't reach easily.

I've sprinkled DE in rooms--all over the carpet and furniture. Left it over night and then in the morning vacuumed. Then I would rub it into the couches and carpet.
I've also rubbed it into the fur of my dogs and sprinkled it all over my yard (we had a very small lot at the time). However, since I have beagles, I would do this when we'd leave for the weekend or I knew it was going to rain hard overnight, because it can ruin their lungs if inhaled.
We're in a rental right now while we have a house being built and there are TONS of rabbits in the backyard. TONS. I see at least 3 every day. So the dogs pick up the fleas from the grass and I can't really do anything, since we rent.
Don't bomb. You don't want that residue all over your stuff. Its really gross and poisonous, especially if you've got little ones. Treat your pets and your yard. Vacuum and throw out the bag immediately. The fleas have to feed, they will feed on your pets, then die. If you are washing your pets then immediately putting on a flea treatment, that won't work. It runs on the oils of their skin, and their skin has to be oily. So wait 3-4 days after bathing.

Frontline was useless when my dog got fleas. We got Bravecto from the vet and were combing the dead fleas off him in 3 hours. We haven't seen a live one since.
