Welcome Back Favorite Entertainment Spectaculars at Disneyland Resort This Fall
With the dazzling Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration coming to a close on September 5, we’re pleased to announce that this fall will see the return of two favorite nighttime spectaculars.
At Disney California Adventure park, the original version of “World of Color” will be presented, beginning September 6, with all the great sequences of Disney animation and music you remember, from WALL-E and Eve zipping through the cosmos to Pocahontas exploring just around the riverbend.
Across the Esplanade at Disneyland park, you’ll once again be able to enjoy the timeless soundtrack of Disney’s “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks spectacular when it lights up the sky over Sleeping Beauty Castle Friday through Sunday evenings starting September 9. Versions of “Fantasy in the Sky” date back to 1958, when Walt Disney envisioned the show as a spectacular “kiss goodnight” for his Disneyland guests.
“World of Color” and “Fantasy in the Sky” will each be presented through the early November kickoff of Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. So go ahead and plan your visit, and get your nostalgia on!
Thank goodness. I hate trying to navigate through Disneyland in the late afternoon/early evening because the crowds are SO intense. I hope getting rid of PTN and having fireworks so soon afterwards helps that.

Paint the Night and the fireworks made me want to avoid Disneyland between 7pm-10pm because of all the damn people! I can handle crowds but I hated trying to navigate my way through oblivious tourists who were constantly in my way! At least when it was super busy they would open the walkway behind the main street shops so you could avoid the masses.
What I don't get is why they would shut off access to that escape route at all! They created it to relieve some of the insanity of those crowds, but every time we try to use it they make us go right back to maneuvering through the throngs of people instead. So. Annoying.
Well Paint the Night is going to be gone as of Sept. Disney did confirm on twitter that it is on the chopping block. YAY!!! Main Street will be normal again.
I love Paint the Night. Lol. But I'm not a local. I'm glad we'll be able to see it one more time in August before it leaves.
Does DLR normally not have a nighttime parade? I guess I'm used to the MSEP at WDW, so it seems normal to me.
Well we used to have the MSEP parade but then it went down south. There will still be a parade (Mickeys Soundsational Parade) in the late afternoon. In the off season the park closes early and they tend to not have fireworks at night. They are gearing up for Halloween Time right now and then in November the Holiday Parade should make its annual return; they do that parade in the afternoon and evening.
Im fine with the fireworks & woc changes - but I'm seriously pissed about PTN. We're going for the first time in November and we were so looking forward to it. If they kept it the crowds would slow down eventually anyway. I know it's just a parade but I'm really mad.
I'm so sad about PTN. I'm glad we stayed for it a couple weeks ago so I could see it one last time. Clearly MEP is still going strong at MK, I don't know why PTN couldn't stay around at DLR.
