Think hard about the details of extracurriculars" it's easy to say "Oh I just won't sign my kids up for all that stuff" but I generally find that the people saying that still have toddlers.
Okay, my kids ARE still young, but my parents didn't sign us up for all that stuff. So I believe it is possible to really not do that much. Like.. sports with multiple practices/games per week? Probably not, sorry. Not unless we can arrange other transportation. I'm only human.
We know plenty of families that don't do extra activities. it is definitely possible. Band/Music is through school and they have a couple things like Girls on the Run that are immediately after school and can be part of aftercare. My kids do sports with multiple practices and we carpool. The only one I need to be at practices with is my 4 year old, and we've held off on things for her. I think we do a lot of running around, but would have with 2 kids as well.
I appreciate all of the input. I'm trying to not be naïve and be all "Well, the oldest two will be 8.5 and 5 (roughly) so it has to be easier, right?" Like others have mentioned, I'm used to the chaos of 2 kids, so what's 1 more, right? RIGHT?
My biggest struggle with 2 is that I feel like a ping pong ball, bouncing back and forth, whether it be one kid needing something from me or just talking/asking incessant questions. Throw in a third and it'd be a damn juggling act!
This is almost my exact spacing. We're only 3 months in, but it's been really great. And I'm excited for school to start back up and have 1 on 1 time with the baby.
