I'm headed back home from taking a test that will determine the next several years of my career path (aptitude test essentially). I think it went well or at least better than expected.
On the downside, date for Saturday is MIA. We never confirmed when and where. The first one went well I thought, but either he doesn't plan well enough for me or he just sucks.

I'm sitting watching the Olympics eating ice cream for dinner. DS crashed early and I haven't heard from STBXH all day (I did let my lawyer know what's going on)
Watching the opening ceremonies right now. I have some tentative plans for the weekend. I'm not sure which ones will really pan out. I have:
See Bad Moms with some GS mom friends Float on the river and drink Boat races Clean the house Donate clothes, and maybe some time if needed, for the volunteer fireman and his family Sleep
I was off today. I went to target and then got a mani/pedi. Then we went to see suicide squad and out to dinner. Tomorrow we're heading to the mountains for a couple of days.

i HATE FB's "people you may know" feature. they've decided to throw a few guys i met through Tinder my way ... the day i make the sad sad infuriating realization that i've been GHOSTED by the guy i was seeing since Feb. Both guys seem to be doing well including one who's engaged to the girl he must have met the day after we went out.
ugh i had being the girl who's the last one before they decide they want to settle down ... with someone else.
I'm happy to have a low key weekend at home with the kids. My bff was over this week. She said I will not have a chance at a "real relationship" as long as I keep up my travel/adventure/social schedule.
On one hand I see where she's coming from. I'm not easy to schedule plans with, unless we can set things in advance and I plan around. But- I'd like to meet someone who wants the same kind of life. It could happen.
What's up with the rest of SO?
Yeah it can definitely happen so I wouldn't listen to your friend. You seem pretty confident so I'm sure you won't let her worry you.
I think that's why my boyfriend and I work so well together. We're both very independent and essentially continued to lead the same lives once we started dating. He goes out a good amount and is on the road touring a lot overseas and has opposite sex friends and I'm ok with that. I have a lot of hobbies, work long hours and travel solo and he's ok with that. We like adventures together too. We compliment each other well when we're together.
You can definitely find someone who likes that aspect of your life and compliments it.

I had to quit Facebook to stop exposing myself to things that upset me. I think there's a movie about being the one before the ONE, but I think I only saw the preview.

pinkdutchtulips , this recently happened to me too. Someone told me that now messenger is syncing with phone contacts so these dudes must have still had your number in their phones. I long since deleted a lot of guys and one day FB was like - hey how's about you be friends with all these dudes... all at once. WTF. No. Hugs.
The guy I have been dating and I had a blip last week, I don't know if I wrote about it on SO. We've been trying to hash it out this week and had a phone conversation on Friday that seemed productive after a very weird date on Thursday. There are a lot of positive things about him and communication seems to be very important to him, which I appreciate. I just don't know if it's too soon to be having communication issues. We'll see, we're going to try things again and see if there is something really here or not. Today we're supposed to go kayaking if the weather holds up.

Ugh this is why I refuse to install the Facebook app and Facebook messenger on my phone. I had deleted facebook for awhile due to the lack of privacy settings, but eventually reactivated my account. I don't check it all that often and it still gives me pause as to the things you can't control in regards to privacy.
I'm on vacation with my friend and her friends for a wedding. They are much bigger partiers than I am so it's been an interesting experience. The wedding is today and we leave tomorrow. It's beautiful here (Oahu) but it'll be nice to get home!
My dad and I went to the firehall to donate some kid's clothes. We went in and I was amazed at all the donations that people had already dropped off. The hall tables were full of everything from diapers to toys, clothes, toiletries, and furniture. While we were there, a truck pulled up with a trailer full of furniture. It was organized well and there were so many volunteers (my dad and I offered but they didn't need anymore). I heard that the hall itself had taken in over $5k in monetary donations. One guy called in from Florida and donated $2k. I met Ken and his wife and they were both so friendly and so appreciative of everything. I'm so proud of my hometown for pulling together and supporting Ken and his family.
