Since I spent my 30th birthday in rehab (physical therapy kind), as mentioned here before, I want to take a 30 1/2 birthday trip in March, or sometime around then. I will steer clear of spring breakers and/or Easter vacation.
I have been to every state on the east coast, plus Chicago and Argentina.
Details: There will be 6-8 of us; I want tropical beach weather; possible all inclusive; between 5-7 days
Cruise is not an option because I cannot physically handle the excursions.
So where should I go? TIA
ETA: Budget $2,000-3,000 per person. If this isn't reasonable, but let me know
You don't have to do excursions when you go on a cruise. There's always the option to stay on the ship or go to an all inclusive resort on shore...no walking required.
My xbf loved Vegas because it was so disability friendly, everything there is new and ADA. I'm not sure how far you are in rehab and if that should be a consideration. But it's an easy vacation spot with great pools and hotels etc. We stayed at a very nice AI in Cancun and we had to go through the employees hallways and quarters to allow him to have beach access without several steps which were difficult for him to navigate. We did it, and the staff was friendly about it. But other countries don't have the ADA the way we do, just a thought.
I love the Caribbean, so far I've done a few spots in Mexico, the Bahamas and the DR. Have you looked at Atlantis? it might be right up your alley. I haven't stayed there but I've heard good things.
Thank you so much for this! I am hoping my PT will help and I will need the chair a lot less. Obviously I don't have any control over this. While I would love to go to a beach, it may still be difficult to walk in sand. After reading your post, I am thinking Vegas would be a lot of fun. Plus it would be my first time since I am a Vegas Virgin! lol
