Do you think this is ringworm?

This is my DD's arm. I noticed it last night after being outside. Assumed it was a mosquito bite, but now I'm not so sure.

It looks like a bug bite to me, when C gets ant or mosquito bites they spread out really far like that.

Is it swollen or flush with the skin? I would think that a bit would swell a little and ringworm is flat. If it's flat, I would say it's a good chance it's ringworm. Get some Blue Star Ointment.

It does look a little like ringworm, but also, that is exactly what the beginnings of a psoriasis patch looks like on me.

It's raised, hence my thinking its a bite. I sent an email to the nurse with the pictures and she told us to come in if we were concerned.

I have no experience with ringworm. I'm planning on just waiting and see. What should I watch out for though?

M has had mosquito bites that look like that before

I've had ringworm. There was a slightly raised ring around the spot and it had a rubbery feel. But the entire spot wasn't raised. You can always use an anti-fungal. Shouldn't hurt or make it worse. (like whatever is rec'd for Athlete's Foot.) #notadoctor

this is why I put towels over the mats at the gym.

It could be an eczema patch. Both myself and DS2 have had something like that (at different times) and it looked like ringworm but was actually eczema.

My first thought is a psoriasis patch, but it could be fifths disease too. Have you noticed red cheeks? Pitiryasis rosea and tinea versicolor begin with a patch like that but I think it's usually on the trunk.

It's prob ringworm, though, but Lyme is no joke so better safe than sorry.

I've been reading about Lyme because DS has a weird spot on his back too, I'll see if it changes tomorrow morning:

When I had ring worm it actualy had a ring look with a clear center. Just a ring, not a circle.

I have also freaked out about Lyme before and every time it ends up being a mosquito bite.

I say mark it and watch for growth/change. Otherwise I wouldn't stress. I'm sorry, it's crazy how bad kids react to bug bites!

That looks like a bullseye. I'd go in and have it checked. Lyme disease is awful.

That does look like Lyme. They can start her on an antibiotic. I don't think it's Fifth's...DS had a spiderweb-like rash with that. I'd have it checked out...that looks like a bullseye to me.

I was going to say yes to ringworm because DD's spot of it started out as a red circle before it became the typical ring, but the update from this morning doesn't look like it to me, the red spot in the middle says bug bite to me.

DD has an appointment on Monday just in case. They told us to watch it and wait a bit.

You can use a sharpie to outline the bite/rash/circle. This way you can see whether it gets bigger or smaller or stays the same.

Circled it and kept an eye on it. I called the pedi and they said to do that and call if it got bigger. It went away a few days later
