MSEP leaving WDW in Oct

It will be going to Disneyland for a limited time. Last day is Oct 9th.

I was not a fan of it at all.

I wish they had taken better care of the Spectromagic floats They left them outside so they are mostly ruined.

Paint the Night at DL ends in September right? So does that mean DL is going to have a big break with nothing? I wonder if WDW will have a while with nothing? That would bum me out because we are there 10/28-11/8. Hopefully we have PTN pretty soon at WDW.

I heard rumors that Paint the Night might be coming to WDW.

I liked MSEP and will try to see it one more time at the end of the month. I am certainly open to something new though!

What's the difference between MSEP and PTN? I've never seen either. Have you heard PTN is replacing it?

The rumor is PTN is coming since its ending at WDW. PTN seems amazing in the videos I've seen. I think MSEP is so old and outdated and my kids haven't seen a lot of the movies that there are floats for. And my kids have seen a lot of Disney movies.

DD really liked MSEP. Hope they have something as good or better by Jan. Not a fan of some of the recent changes - like doing away with the Wished FP+

So the DL article about PTN leaving says this "“Paint the Night” parade will continue nightly performances, just before “Disneyland Forever” fireworks, through September 5 as part of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration. And I’m excited to share today that this popular parade will return on select nights during the holiday season later this year. Be sure to keep an eye on the entertainment calendar at Disneyland.com for performance dates and times."

So basically WDW would need to get something new or won't get PTN until like February next year.

MSEP needs to come home so all of us CA peeps can give it the love it deserves.

ilikedonuts- They will still have Mickeys Soundsational Parade at Disneyland.  There really isn't going to be a huge gap because the Holiday parade will start up in mid November when Holiday Time at Disneyland kicks off.

I wonder if it will be the evening parade for the Halloween parties.  We are getting the Headless Horseman this year but it makes more sense for him to be lumped in with a parade.  It could also be a weekend only thing since the park closes early during the week in the off season.

AGHHHHH! I do love MSEP but I also loved Spectro a lot. Paint the Night looks totally awesome and I am still so sad that it won't be in DL when we were there in November. I think it totally sucks that they keep snatching things from DL and sending them elsewhere.

MSEP does have a certain nostalgia and it was really cool to see it initially in WDW.

I'm pissed they didn't consult me before all of this madness.

Nope    I wish they did.  I love the Halloween parade at the MK.  I think last year they did do PTN during the parties but we were at a dining event (Mystical Spirits of the Bayou) so we missed the first few hours of entertainment.

So it sounds like MSEP will not start at DL until early next year.

Disboards is saying it probably won't get a replacement anytime soon. I'm going to be really bummed if there is no night parade in November.

I don't LOVE MSEP.I really really want to see Paint the Night though.

Festival of Fantasy is amazing. Why does the 3pm parade HAVE to be at 3pm though? I mean really it's the HOTTEST time of the day and everyone wants to be swimming and napping and you are just waiting for a parade.

I don't like MSEP at all, but I think there needs to be a nightime parade and having multiple month long gap in between is ridiculous. MSEP was a let down after how fun Spectromagic was!

Glad we saw it a few years ago! It was really memorable to us because one of Cinderella's evil step sisters heckled my BIL.

I still remember seeing it in 1979 when I was 5. That and the Snow White ride are the 2 things I really remember from that trip.

Even though my boys were only 15 months when we went, at least I can say all my kids saw the MSEP. Oh well. Hopefully they will have something else worked out by the time we make it back.

Huh. We're going to WDW in November. I was hoping they'd move PTN to WDW, but it sounds like that won't be happening in November. Will they still have the holiday parades during the holiday party events? I love the nighttime parades.

They will still have the Boo to You and and Once Upon a Christmastime parades at night during the parties, but those don't light up like MSEP (and other nighttime parades) which is a bummer. Seems like there just won't be anything on non-party nights which is a bummer

checking in as someone who loves the electrical light parade. I think it needs an update but am sad to see it go altogether. I haven't seen Paint the Night. I googled. Looks ok, bit without the whimsy I think of with the MSEP. Sad.

Loved the Festival of Fantasy parade. DD and I used FP for it. I was so happy we did. She was able to see everything and I got some good pictures. It was one of the few times I took a breath and enjoyed the moment.

Home is the operative word.  My daughter and son in law (both former CMs) were crazy excited to hear that it was coming back to DL....right where it belongs.  Even though we can see it here in FL now, DH and I feel like the MSEP love is in CA.
