Just got the surprise of our life

Went in for a dating ultrasound, and found out there are two little heart beats. The shock is huge for us. A is measuring 6w1d and b is 5w6d. I'm just speechless but can't stop laughing at this situation. I do have a son who is 8 from my former marriage. This will be his first.... And second lol

Congrats! I just posted the same thing on MMM. Babies are measuring 9w1d and 8w5d. It's such a crazy things to wrap my head around!

Thanks! Congrats to you too. I'm a little worried as the doctor thinks the heartbeats are a little slow and there is potential to miscarry. We have to schedule a follow up ultrasound next week and see.

Good luck! I found out about our surprises at an u/s to determine how far along I was (it was 11 weeks) we laughed a lot too, and were terrified at the same time. They are so fun though. We also have an older daughter who is 7 years older. It has worked out really well for us!

Congrats! poptart84 and cari! That ultrasound is something I'll never forget. The tech was measuring things, everything was going well and then she got really quiet. Said "you are going to hate me" longest pause of my life "you are having twins. Identical twins" (my twins were high risk because of how I was carrying them)

It's quite the adventure, the first year was exhausting but I wouldn't trade my girls for anything. So far they are the best of friends and at this stage (nearly 3) it is great because they help each other and entertain each other.
