Looked very classy last night. Dressed stylishly yet age appropriately and look like they missed the whole "awkward" middle school look that hit Chelsea Clinton.
I look at Malia and think about how awkward I felt being so tall at that age. She looks so great; I hope she doesn't feel awkward being a very tall teen girl. It took me until the end of high school to accept my height.
They were very cute last night. There was a moment at the end, when Malia was saying something to her dad, and he laughed in such a genuine, sweet manner. Totally reminded me of how my dad is with me. They are a great family.
It probably helps that their mom is Michelle Obama. If my mom were that stylish, I'm sure I would have avoided some of my more tragic 8th grade outfits.

yup. Chelsea has a mom who doesn't give two shits about fashion outside of wearing something appropriate. The Obama girls have a much better chance at hitting the ground running style-wise. (and I am so very jealous of them for it...I wore some seriously tragic things and had some seriously tragic hair right along with Chelsea thanks to my not-so-girly mama)

They are both so adorable. And such poise for their ages! As a family I just think they're amazing. Despite being the first family they seem to be so normal. I actually read that Barack wasn't at Michelle's speech the other night because it was Malia's first day of high school so he was home with the girls for that!
I think it is funny that both of the girls take on one of the parents distinct characteristics.
Malia is Barak and Sasha is Michelle.
I made this exact same remark to DH last night. I thought it was hilarious that Sasha just could NOT stop talking during the President's speech. Both girls are beautiful and I love seeing them all together as a family.

IDK, 80s and 90s fashion was the definition of tragic.

The one time I've seen Obama lose his cool was when he was walking Sasha to a Halloween party in Chicago before the 2008 election and the press wouldn't back off. Love him and them.

But I remember it being the 90's and loooking at pictures of chelsea (who is like 2 years older than me) and thinking she looked pretty tragic. Obviously looking back she'd look ridiculous no matter what, but she wasn't particularly stylish for the time either.

I'm just going to say it. The problem wasn't her clothes. And the problem hasn't been fixed with clothes. It's been fixed with surgery.
That is crazy! How did I notice that, and how did I not hear about this?

Fixed it for you.
Although count me in on having a fashion-clueless mom.

Is there video of this? I kind of want to see Obama lose his cool. I bet it hotter than porn.
It was a news clip from 10/31 -at least that is where I remember seeing it. He didn't punch anybody (sadly) - Just said "Hey, guys, back off"

See, I just thought her hair was a mess. I didn't think there was anything wrong with her clothes.
