I've been using bare minerals for a while, and I like it, but I want to see if there's a liquid foundation that works for me. I need at least moderate coverage - my skin isn't great and super sheer coverage doesn't cut it for me. I'm willing to spend about the same as I'm spending now, which is about $25/bottle, but less spendy is always better! Any recs for something that can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, or a regular drugstore?
Hmm, I'm having a little trouble with the $25 price point, other's might be more helpful. I did wear Bare Minerals before, and I bet that you'll get a longer use out of a liquid than the powder, in my experience at least.
Dry/oily/combination?
Moving from powder to liquid I think was one of the best things I did, coverage really is better, but it can still look like skin (my fear).
I'd go ask sephora to make you some samples, I think trying out over a few days is the best way. I'd recommend: MUFE MatVelvet (this worked a lot better on me then the HD version, and I believe is closest to your price point -sorry still above) and NARS Sheer Glow (really great stuff).
Also, in your price point, Kiehls Tinted Moisturizer (not carried at sephora or Ulta..), is a great TM, which has really good coverage. I also like NARS TM, but its also above your price point.
When I want heavier coverage, I use Revlon Colorstay. It makes my skin look great, and is very MM.
This! I have used colorstay pretty consistently for the last 10-11 years and really love it. Price is great, usually $10-12 depending on which drugstore you go to. It can really cover a lot and makes your skin look amazing. I have tried other foundations but always seem to go back to this one.
If you use a drugstore * like Revlon* I would see how close to free you can get it. With coupons and ECB it could be like a buck or 2 at CVS. It always feels like a freakin' MM victory to get any cosmetic for free after the $$$$ we spend on this stuff.
