Dishwasher Loading

For those unable to see it: Where do you put your bowls in the dishwasher?   

Options: Top rack or Bottom Rack

If you do not have a dishwasher then answer for when you are at someones how that does have one and you are putting your stuff away.

Top rack, the slots are built for them. I will do big bowls on the bottom though if my hand washing. Tilted down so the water drains and they actually get clean.

I usually put them on top only because I use them as fillers.

I put them in the top, but let me just say, I am the WORST dishwasher loader. Ever. lol, i need to work on it.

I put anything that fits in the top, on the top.

We have two kinds of bowls - the ones that go with our dish set, and those go in the bottom. The other kind are really the crazy oversized mug bowls with handles and those go on top. It comes down to where things most efficiently fit.

I'm surprised how split this is! I have always put the bowls on the bottoms with the plates. All the cups and kids bowls (plastic) go on top with their cups and any large utensils like spatulas and such. H however ALWAYS puts his bowls on top and it drives me nuts since it takes so much space and theres always a bunch of the kids bowls and cups that I need that top space lol I don't say anything though for fear of mkate710, comic and he just piles it all in the sink from now on lol

Our dishwasher instruction book has the bowls on top... It is designed for bowls. I can fit just about every table dish we own following setup guide from the instructions. Tons of plates and bowls. Regular bowls don't even fit on the bottom. The slots are all wrong for them. So I think it may depend on the actual dishwasher

I have plastic on top and ceramic on the bottom. If I put all the bowls on top, it cuts into the room for the glasses. The girls use a LOT of glasses (or plastic cups).

I put small ones on top but if necessary I will put them on the bottom as well. I cram as much as I can into my dishwasher

I said bottom rack, but those are for the ones that aren't kid plastic. Kid plates go on the top rack.

We fill up the top rack first, but if it's full, I have no problem putting bowls on the bottom rack. My issue is that DH thinks you can put one in each slot, which doesn't leave enough room for the water to get in and clean them. They need space!
