I don't think this is a popular one here, but as someone else in my party wants to go, I thought I would share here. After spending $446 to reserve dinner for the 8 of us, I just found out on FB that they have created tiered seating for this event. So if you want first dibs at seating, food and characters, it will cost you an additional $10pp. If you are on the dining plan, you are automatically tier 2 or 3.

We loved mickeys BBQ and honestly there's not a bad seat in there (it's not a huge place to begin with). There was plenty of food for seconds, or thirds, and we never waited in line. The kids are up dancing with the characters the whole time. All that being said, the link you posted says you can choose either tier with the dining plan.

I did see that in the link but the CM I spoke to said it was not true. Glad you had a good time. I'm looking forward to it!

You can see from everywhere since it's just a small pavilion your sitting under. You're only sitting while eating otherwise the kids are either standing or dancing on the dance floor while watching the performance on the stage or standing in line to get the characters autographs.

We went tonight and it was actually really fun. There were only about 5 families who got let in early. We got to take pics without waiting in line and got to eat before anyone else came in, which was nice because then the kids could go dance right away. I thought the dancing with the characters was a cool experience.
