I also agree that the book should be age appropriate and global banning of books shouldn't be condoned! I was a bit sruprised though to see 4th graders reading the Hunger Games at DS's school (he's in K), but we haven't gotten to that point in his reading yet where I'm concerned. we are huge readers and I'll read before or with him if I think there is something that might be iffy for him personally.

My high school must have been pretty liberal. We did a whole unit my senior year on banned books. I will pretty much let my kids read what they want, especially by high school age.
