Our old daycare (a large national chain) opened at 6:30, current one (small local preschool) opens at 7:30. Before are at our elementary school opens at 7.
Our daycare center is downtown, near where a lot of people work (but not so much where they live). That makes it easier to have shorter hours, because most parents don't need to fit commuting time into daycare hours. I know "daycare near work not home" goes against conventional MMM wisdom, but it works better for us for this reason, and also because it means I don't have traffic backups between me and my firm pickup time.
6 would be hard to find around here. There are regulations about how long a child can be at daycare and so most set their hours to the max time to prevent having to track individual students. If they opened at 6 they'd have to close at 4.
ETA: There are also regulations about the hours public schools can accept parents. The school zone over does have an early morning drop off program starting at 7 and I think it would be very difficult for them to be open earlier.
7:30-6:30. Though if you pick up your kid after 5 be prepared for them to be the only, lonely kid and you to feel like the worst parent. Because of that I wish they'd shift their hours early. Especially because my kid wakes up at 4:30am. I would love a 7am drop off time.

I feel like that will vary with each area. Our daycare was pretty full at 5:00, but by 5:30 a lot of kids were gone. I used to pick up at 5:30 ish and there usually 5 or 6 kids out of 19 there.
I briefly looked for a 6:00 or even a 6:30 am daycare because I need to be at work at 7:15 am and I work 20 minutes away from daycare/home. I couldn't find one. My H has no choice but to drop DD off precisely at 7am, and then pray there's no traffic on his 50 minute commute. He's often late.

This is my fear. I am being involuntarily transferred to a shift that start 530/6am, H has to be at work at 7, daycare opens at 630. In ideal conditions he could make it, but this is traffic time. He doesn't have a job where he can be late to work. Right now I do drop-off because I work evenings.
Even when I was pregnant we tried to find a nanny due to our work hours and we couldn't even find a nanny who wanted to start at 6am. And now we would need to find someone to take her at 6am and then drive her to daycare when it opens or school when she goes next year. Ugh I am hating my job right now.SaveSave
