DS is in first grade. I do drop off, then he goes to aftercare in the same building (but run by a daycare). Until he started kinder he was always at a center full time.
H and I work alternating days. We are both nurses so it works out. When the kids are both in school I am hoping to have more time off together by utilizing before/after school care and working the same days.

I recently started SAH when DS2 was born but when we only had DS1, my sister nannied for us from when he was 12 weeks to 2 years. Then he went to a daycare center until he turned 3. He just started part time preschool.
A close friend watched DS at her house from the time he was 4 months old until he was 2.5 yrs old. (She has kids in the same age range.) We had a transition on the horizon last year, and had I not stopped working he would have moved on to a daycare center until K.
We had a nanny for one summer when our friend had a baby. I wasn't a big fan of having someone in our home every day, but was thankful for the trial so we could determine a nanny wasn't for us.

I work 20 hours a week and our kids are 9 and 11 and in school. One day a week, we have a sitter from 2:30-6:30 and once a week DH comes home from work early. My other work hours are when the kids are in school
