Diddy was on MSNBC and he feels that the black community was shortchanged by President Obama. I feel like I keep hearing people say this and when I ask for concrete answers as to what they would have liked for him to do, they either can't give an answer or it is not something the president has the authority to do. I think Obama's hands were tied for a lot of things he wanted to accomplish and I think both he and Michelle will be able to do more for the black community once he is out of office.
But is there anything specifically you would have liked to see Obama do for the black community while in office? Do you feel shortchanged by the first black president?
I don't have anything that I needed him to do. I just love that my son was born in the month he got elected. My three only know him as President. I love that. He has been a class act. The policies that he attempted to implement reflect a deep connection to the needs of the people. I am disappointed he was stonewalled so much. I am looking forward to what he and his family do after he leaves office. I love them!
Obama had the ACA pass, legalization of gay marriage and commuted a bunch of people's jail sentences, which all directly affect poor and marginalized communities.
Those are just a few things that pop in my head. Him and his family are a class act and I'm glad we got to be a part of something so special and wonderful.
