@lemonlover as someone who has a ton of gay friends I think it's totally dependent on the relationship. My best friends who are gay introduce themselves as my gay best friend, they call themselves gay uncles, etc. I think it's relationship dependent. And my relationship with my gay guy friends is different from my girl friends and straight male friends. While I get what you are saying I don't think it's always a bad thing and could just be part of doglove 's vernacular with her friends

Yes, sorry I was not trying to be offensive and I apologize if I offended anyone. Yes, they often joke and call themselves my gay husbands and about our weekly date night. It's been our play on date night for over a year between the three of us, I can see how me saying that would rub people the wrong way.
