There was a conversation about race & getting pulled over on MMM a while ago. I said that H has been pulled out his car multiple times and told to take off his shoes. That he once almost made the mistake of bending over to take them off and the chorus of "that's never happened to my H!" was enraging.

I remember that! And it reminded of the times MH has been pulled over (in that notoriously racist town by us) and given a warning. After each incident, he and I completely agreed that if he wasn't blindingly white he would have been ticketed. Just because he got off with a warning doesn't mean that your H would have gotten the same treatment.

Can you even imagine forming your lips or fingers to shout down the perspective of, say, an LGBT individual, or any other minority just because?  Where does one purchase balls that big?  Even the whole "I don't get it" business is just a mess.  You should be saying that with a lot less pride.  In fact, you should probably just shut up and listen or pick up a book.  I don't understand a lot of things, but you'll never see me wearing that fact like a badge of honor.

Right! It's appalling the things people dare say because no one taught them that if you don't know something, STFU and crack open a book. You don't go running your mouth letting the ignorance, insults, and hate flow like rain. I get so much second hand embarrassment in those situations, and I immediately think, "Who the hell raised you? Where are you people? They should be ashamed that they let you get this way".

If they really considered the affirmation of one life mattering to be a denial of the same for all others, then they would consider “Blue Lives Matter” to be just as offensive as “Black Lives Matter.” But they don’t.



Not only are they unoffended by #BlueLivesMatter, but they consider any concession or policy change aimed at countering black vulnerability to be unearned special treatment — while they actively advocate giving police officers protected class status, oblivious to the fact that they already have it.
