Good morning! I'm back in the office today after having a really good day off.
I took DD to school and cried after I dropped her off. She didn't need me to walk her to class this year, which was for some reason hard to handle. It makes me sad that she is getting so big, so fast. I am excited that she really does like her teacher though, so apparently the rumors she had heard about the teacher being mean are untrue.
I'm SO excited for this weekend - DD has her first soccer game and the Hawks are back for the regular season!
H has to go out of town for overnight golf trip to Bremerton or something for work and he's not thrilled. So just me and the cat tonight. My client was finally able to get back to me about this last round of art choices so I need to do the finish work on her logo tonight.
Work is swamped and I just wanna draw instead.
Vet did bloodwork on Ivan because he's lost 1.5 lbs in the past year and since he's 8, vet just wanted to make sure it wasn't the beginning of thyroid issues or something. I suspect MIL just snuck him a lot more food than we suspected so now he doesn't have those extra calories and we have to adjust his food. However, vet hasn't left results via VM and when i called, they didn't have a vet tech tell me so i'm trying REALLY HARD to not be nervous. Maybe it's just the way this vet does things? Likes to talk to each person himself? Telling myself that...

sotally tober, I'm glad I'm not the only mom that cries on the first day of school. I always feel like I shouldn't since he's not going into K. I'm glad she had a good first day and likes her "mean" teacher.
I had a phone screen with a recruiter this morning. It went okay, but the job description is more senior than I think I qualify for, so my hopes aren't up at all. But, you never know. It would get me back into biotech which would be awesome. Unlikely for anything to come of it, though.
I'm home today which means lots of housework. I have about 1/10 done so far and have used about 1/6 of my time, so I need to get a move on.
The thing that Tman didn't get done for homework on Tuesday night ended up getting changed to last night's homework...lucky punk!
I'm still dealing with getting talked to at school drop off. The lady was nice about it but I went in through a door that only kids can use in the mornings apparently. If I want to walk into the school in the morning I have to go to the main entrance which is the complete opposite end from her classroom and check in. I understand safety and all but dude. I just want to drop my 5yr old off in her classroom, making sure she gets there and not somewhere else. So dumb.
I have bathroom cleaning and laundry to keep me busy until pick up later.

You are walking IN with a child, it's not like you are walking OUT with one. What, they afraid they'll get extra chids they don't want?
@ksta, I know! Its just kind of upsetting that they are limiting parents so much when its just a matter of dropping off their kids. I understand wanting security to keep bad people out but they have staff all around outside in those 15 minutes before the bell rings and I already have my hands full having the two other kids to keep track of so not sure what they expect. Just to get into the main door of the school you have to push a button and show your ID to the camera before they let you into the building where you then have to go into the office to get a pass and let them know your reasoning for being there. I have to do that every morning now to just drop her off.
dana86, this is all the more reason you should home school.
Today is our 4th anniversary. Idk what to get H, I mean I gave him a baby so that should really be enough. He wants to go hiking this weekend. I shut that down. I love hiking I just think 4 weeks post birth it is asking a lot to hike Wallace falls. So, we will do something together this weekend, any ideas?
