Maybe something related to personal life and one professional life. Hopefully this will also help with self care and being positive.
Personal - started swim lessons with personal trainer on my way to doing a triathlon next year.
Professional - got asked to speak with minority students at my med school. I'm a little nervous because the other doctors that replied so far 1 is a surgeon and 1 is a cardiologist and I'm "just" family medicine. But I'm excited to start the ball rolling in regards to helping other minority students succeed in medicine. I've also been asked to speak to high school students but not sure if that opportunity is going to work with my schedule, so that's tbd.
Personal - my Etsy shop has pretty consistent business and it pretty much pays for S's preschool every month.
Professional - I've got nothing, lol. This is the worst time of year and I call not crying into a bottle of tequila every night a success
That's great that your etsy shop is doing so well!
And I'd say that I'd call not crying in to a bottle of tequila a success. I've definitely started drinking more at night since starting residency last year.
Personal - I signed up for a group fitness thing that starts in a couple of weeks.
Professional - I was asked to moderate a panel in a couple of weeks, I am presenting at a conference in November that will sort of mark the trifecta of conferences at which I dreamed of presenting, and that has all happened in the last year. I finished my postdoc (and now need to study for the licensure exam, ugh). I am thisclose to signing a contract for a new part time job doing something that I love with people I love, to reform drug education and end the drug war.
Professional - there have been some changes to my role, and it's just the right amount of challenging now. The work day goes by faster now.
Personal - my training cycle has been pretty successful and I'm starting to think that 2 marathons in 28 days may be not be as bad as I thought it would be.
Personal - I hit and then surpassed my fitness goals for the year. I've PR'd every distance I've raced and I am getting PRs on my lifts as well.
Professional - I'm in a slump right now but it's OK. H got a new job so our lives have changed drastically so I can't be dealing with a job changing situation on my end right now.

Personal- I walked this am I am chugging through Whole30 with only 9 days left! Feeling like a boss! Professional- I am a SAHM so my success might be different. I had a nice many talk with dd about deep breathing when she is mad. She has done it twice today and even used it to avoid the park leaving tantrum. Dinner is in the crock pot and I am cleaning the house.

Moved from Self Care Thread
Accountability: I just kept driving today. I dropped off DS1 to school and kept going. I stopped at Starbucks and got a Venti Caramel Macchiato and then drove to the bookstore and knocked out a short story that I want to enter into a contest. I also walked over to First Watch and had lunch by myself and enjoyed some reading. It was fabulous.

Sounds like my dream day! Glad you are off to a great start.

Personal - Money management has been better. My need to impulsively buy things has diminished. Also, I've been a lot better about not being a stone cold bitch to people I don't care for. I realized a smile and a good morning can go pretty far, and both are sufficient in many cases.
Professional - I've been consistent with my artist collective. I've taken the lead on a few projects at work that have eased my boss's load. Additionally, I've settled on my grad program - Multicultural College Teaching and Education. Pending acceptance, I'll be starting in the fall.

Personal: I got a new Fitbit free from work and got remotivated...I've hit my steps almost every day since I got it except for the days that I was on a plane for most of the day (but I walked about 20k steps a day on average in Disney once I got there so I figure it evened out, lol).
Professional: I am first author on a paper that we're submitting to JAMA Pediatrics, which is pretty high impact. Fingers crossed! I've been author on publications for bigger journals but usually at like 20th author, lol.

Just personal here. My new hobby since early this summer is making decorated cookies. After the kids have gone to bed, I do them while listening to Gilmore Guys podcast. It's my fun time. On fri, I posted some pics of baby shower cookies on my local fb board and got tons of responses. I got two orders for this sat and one possibly in oct.

Let's seem them! I love decorated cookies. I wish I had the patience & hand for them.
They are so fun to do! I made the cat theme one last week and giraffe theme last month.

OMG, they are AMAZING! Sometimes when people post that they are baking for fun I kind of brace myself for a disaster but these look not just professional, but like "known throughout the region" professional! Save

Personal - I'm pleased at how I've been able to handle my anxiety/panic. It was so bad a few years ago I was in the hospital for about a week. At the time I was angry and resentful for my doc & therapist suggesting that I go, but now I see it was for the best. This week is a serious test since DH (the "primary parent") is away until Friday and I'm overwhelmed already.
Professional - I talked to my manager about a promotion I've been extremely hesitant because our owner, while brilliant, can have very unpredictable behavior and I kinda have a problem with authority (DH nicknamed me Rage Against the Machine), so I've really had to check myself and make sure that I can act appropriately to his actions.

I love knowing other paper crafters and your stuff is gorgeous! I do a lot of cards and invites...I currently have a cameo, but i've been using cutting machines for like 8 years. I had an original cricut, sizzix big shot, the expression, the sizzix eclips and the brother scan and cut. I ended up HATING the brother, and my sizzix and cricut died. I'm really looking for another machine and I have my eye on the Pazzles Vue, I do a lot of print and cuts and I hear it works very well with this machine.
Eeeek! I just accepted the job offer folks! I'm so excited I wanna cry. I have been fighting for this position for over a year. I have been working on the project for about that long, and told the ED a few months ago that for this to really work out, they should hire me. Its taken some time, many discussions, and a LOT of patience to get to this point. Its just one of the part time jobs I've been working on getting, so I'll still be working on finding something to fill the rest of my time, but damn this feels good!
Personal: I'm moving forward with creating the best possible life for the girls and me I feel very happy and at peace with that decision.
Professional: *Teaching: I may have the chance to cover a mat leave position at DD1's school this winter. The AP wants to talk to me about it but I need more details since my WL surgery should be sometime in November. I've been out of the classroom for five years, so I'm kind of nervous and kind of regretting reaching out to the school but I feel like it's what I need to do right now.
*My Own Business (sewing/crochet): I'm working on my website and it should be ready to go in the next couple of weeks, I've had the domain for a while so I might as well put it to use. I'm usually very determined but it's hard putting handmade stuff out there for public "criticism." So far, whenever I've made and sold something it's been well-received but still. Regardless, I won't know how it's going to be until I go for it! <---That's me still trying to give myself a pep talk, LOL.
Personal- I've been training for a half-marathon and was having a hard time breaking the 7 mile barrier. For weeks, I just kept losing my steam around mile 5 or 6. I finally got in a 7 mile run last week and ran 8 miles this morning. I think (hope) this means I'm in good shape to make it to mile 9, 10, etc. before the event in November.
Professional- my childcare situation was absolute crap this summer, but I'm doing a pretty good job of catching up on work stuff now that school is back in swing for the kids. I even met a deadline last week without having to pray or beg or do anything more than order out dinner a couple of nights in a row.
