My #1 store suggestion is always Madewell. Their jeans are awesome, and you can basically pick anything in the store for a cute, casual vibe. If you have a store nearby, check out the sale rack. Those are usually great deals. Now I just need a fake student ID to get the 15% discount.

I found a jacket I love by madewell but the price....ouch. I need to wait until next summer and hope it goes on sale.
yeah I don't buy anything full price in there. The shoes are actually a good deal at any price though. I've yet to wear a pair out.
I also essentially have a uniform. It looks mostly like the picture below. I deviate here and there, but in the fall, winter and at least part of the spring, I'm wearing the same thing, which makes getting dressed very easy.
I have this blazer in two colors and this shirt in three colors lol.
I change it up by swapping the tees out for tunics, tanks, or lightweight sweaters and swap the skinnies for leggings or boyfriend jeans (and this fall, I'll be incorporating flares too, hooray !). For accessories, the shoes vary the most (Vans slip ons or similar for casual, smoking slipper style flats or pointy toe flats for a little less casual, wedge boots/flat boots for more trendy, heels and heeled boots for dressier) and I sometimes put a scarf or a statement necklace in the mix. Bags go from slouchy hobos, handbags to clutches. I stick to black white and gray probably 90% of the time now.
@246baje, I really like the old Navy knit swing dresses and their Rockstar jeggings. I wear longish tops with the jeggings and boots or cute flats or low heels.
05heel I found a pair of boots on Madewell's site for about 60% off that I love. Once I'm off this spending freeze I need to go and check out their sale rack.
@246baje jeans, boots, sweater/ tunic, and a scarf is my Fall/ Winter uniform.

It's from Banana, but they don't carry it anymore. I plan to stock up on several more should they return. Net-A-Porter also carries this similar version by Theory, but of course, it's more expensive (although, based on my experience with Theory pieces, likely worth it).
I want to wear more blazers but my I basically have a petite top with FAAAT arms. I have such a hard time find blazers that fit. And that is even if I consider getting alterations. It is like if I size up it is bigger in the body and not the arms. I have the same issue with jeans and sizing up making it bigger in the waist and not the legs.
I have to become one of those people that buys something in multiple colors when I find something that fits, but I am too cheap for that.
Where are you shopping for blazers @246baje? My body is definitely mismatched LOL. While my upper body is petite and I have a really short torso, I have money arms. So while petite cut would probably fit me better, the arms will never be long enough. So I have to get regular size which then requires more tailoring.
I live in Loft curvy straight jeans and an assortment of tops this time of year. I try to switch up knee high boots and ballet flats to make it seem like I change outfits at least.
ETA: Since real fall here doesn't start until end of October, I do avoid boots until then. So it's just ballet flats. Blazers are also easy to throw on, but since I wear them more for work I grab long cardigans on weekends instead.
Long cardigans are getting to be the new pants for me. I love them when done right but I have so much trouble finding any I love. I was on my last flight in a blazer, mad at the world .
Not at all, I thought they would but no and I've been wearing them all summer. They are also the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Way better than toms.

Huh the silver ones are cute where'd you get them?
I looked for women's jelly flats on Amazon, there are so many. Read the reviews first and the sizing recommendations.

It really depends on your size. For someone like me, it works well to hide everything. Unfortunately for someone like you, I think it can swallow you unless you belt it or something.
No, I've gained weight since you saw me , camouflage is good. The fit is okay, but it's like there's an odd collar or a weird hemline or something. I don't know, kind of like pants, it's not always easy for me to pinpoint what's turning me off of them. Sometimes I'm not picky at all and then sometimes, I can't be satisfied. Anyway, if you see any you love this year, please share. I have one I like for a long time but it's very distinctive so I don't usually repeat it as much as I really want lol.
If you're looking for another pair of jelly type flats, I highly recommend Oka-B. I have three pair of their shoes. It's made from recycled plastic.
Also, I'm going to say that thus far, I'm not feeling any of the stuff I've seen for fall. I can only do so many high low hems. I can't stand the "cold shoulder" blouses and I hate peasant blouses. So basically, I haven't purchased anything is like a couple of months.

Oh stop, I've seen your post in OOTD, you look fantastic! I'll share if I see anything good. I'm on the hunt for that and pants. Sigh.
Thanks, I just don't think I'll be happy until I get back down. Oh mah gawd, pants are the worst. I've been determined yet again this year and nothing. What I do not understand at all is why like 40% of the pants out right now are cropped. How is this a real thing for fall and winter? We can do it here, but what about everyone else. And plus, it's so stupid. It feels like yet another way to make pants dumb. A pair here or there is fine, but I'm seeing so many!

Cropped pants are my friend. I can but a regular pants in a smaller size and bam! Perfect length for my short ass.
Sorry tall people.
In all seriousness though the cropped pants plus booties trend is weird to me. It looks odd and if it's a more temperate climate, aren't your ankles cold?
Never thought about this. No wonder they are everywhere--they're probably selling like hotcakes lol!
