We are thinking about a Disney Cruise next Jan or Feb. Our older daughter will be almost 5, younger one 2 1/2. Is it worth it to do this vacation with a 3 year old? Are there activities for her? Also - for the kids clubs it seems from everything I am reading, they will have to be separate and the areas for the 2 year old seem more like a nursery. Anyone have a recent experience with children similar ages?
Yeah... The kids club is for 3 and up. The other section is more like a nursery- not sure if it has the same hours or whatever. It might just be opened at night for parents up get dinner or whatever. My son is 5 and loved the kids club in January!! They do fun stuff like Mouseketeer training where Mickey stops by :-) Something else to think about is potty training. I don't think swim diapers are allowed in the pools on the ships. But there's a splash area they can play in. And on castaway cay ( disneys island) there's a spray area too...

We took DD when she was 2y9m. She is somewhat shy and nervous so maybe it won't be the same for your DD but she actually really loved the nursery. They still had character visits, played movies, did crafts. Yes, they would have to be in separate areas.
Things to think about: It's super cheap to take a 2 year old (I think we paid like $300 per kid under 3 for the whole cruise) but then you do have to pay $9/hour for the nursery. You can use as many nursery hours as you want though and you can pre-book the times before you go OR do it on the ship. We were always able to get our kids in when we wanted but I know some cruises are busier than others.
Like PP said, if she's still in diapers she can't go into the pool at all. The splash pad is fun though!

I would wait until the youngest is 4-5. It's amazing and I would want to make sure she remembers it. DD was 5 when we went (3.5 years ago) and she still talks about it. We did another cruise this summer and she compared everything to the Disney cruise.

DD was 2 yrs, 9 mos when we went on our Disney Cruise and she had a fabulous time. We didn't use the nursery and there were plenty of activities for little ones. On each of the at-sea days they had a playdate in an open room with a bunch of toys and coloring pages for toddlers and there was a family dance party every night. there was a live band and a dance floor, but it was aimed at little kids. She also loved the splashpad, character meet and greets, Tea with Alice, Pirates' night, pretty much everything. She had a hard time sitting through the evening shows, but my husband brought her out to walk around. All three of us had a great trip.
