I want to do this!
We move this weekend, so once I unpack and go through my makeup(been living with minimal since May! - though probably not minimal to most people, LOL) I'll pick my five things.
-Bobbi Brown lipstick in Plum Shimmer (I probably have 1/2 inch left of this tube) -Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner in Black Scotch (I have a backup for this, and my original is starting to dry out) -Benefit Rockateur blush (have hit pan already, but want to finish it) -Bobbi Brown cream shadow in Smoky Topaz (have a backup, and this one is several years old and needs to be tossed if I don't use it by year's end) -Bobbi Brown cream shadow in Velvet Plum (same, except no backup)

I want to chime in that this (and clothes shopping) gets so much easier with age. I've become very realistic with myself about what I can use/wear, and what will become clutter years from purchase. Every time I look at pallettes, I see that most of the colors are unusable. They probably wouldn't sell at all by themselves so they put them in there just to be eye-catching. And they need to get rid of them. I also remind myself that colors that look pretty in the pots don't necessarily look great on me. I focus on muted, natural looking shades that I actually wear, rather than what the model is wearing in the advertisement (Star Trek blue or some such nonsense). That way I never fall into a "party colors" trap (on special occasions, I still wear normal makeup and those colors never, never end up getting used, no matter how much I love them). I remind myself that makeup pencils requiring a separate sharpener are horrendously messy, and I only buy swivel pencils. It's much easier to avoid wasteful and impulsive purchasing since I've become realistic about what I actually need and when I'm just being silly.

I'm pretty sure Benefit blushes never, ever run out. I'm making nice progress with my Lorac Pro trio, but haven't hit pan yet, I think I will in the next few days.

I've been using my Nars blush daily, and while I know I'm close-ish to done, I'm struggling because I got the blush when I was a lifeguard and much darker from my tan, so I'm not as in love with the color as I am with my newer blush. Also, it's literally 8 or 10 years old. I will probably toss it in the next few days and count it toward the challenge :-P
Nothing else yet...
ETA: I gave up this morning in broke out a different blush. I'm going to toss my Nars. Still counts for the challenge, right
This picture is from last week or so. I've since finished the Tarte setting powder and I'm done with the Revlon foundation. There's a bit left but I was finally able to get my HG foundation so that's pretty much all I want to use right now. I'm steadily using up the bronzer and eyeshadow. I try to use them pretty much everyday. I'd like to be done with the smaller lipstick by the next update.
I can see a lot more pan on my Benefit Rockateur, and have much deeper craters dug in my cream eyeshadows. The lipstick will never die. Seriously, this bullet doesn't seem to get smaller no matter how often I use it.

My mascara is close to done/drying out, so I'll be finished by Christmas definitely. I'm closer on my blush and my lipstick is winding down (though I'm sure I'll not finish them by the end of the year). My moisturiser seems to be unending. I don't think I'll hit pan on any of the eyeshadows. Such is life.

I want to join. My 5 are: Armani foundation, I have a big and a small bottle that I'd like to use up. Burberry Rosewood shadow, I'm pretty much 80% done with it. UD Rockstar eye pencil. Dr Dennis Gross eye cream. Murad face cream. Living Proof style extender. I'd like to finish up some shampoos and conditioners as well. Also, some random birch box samples.

How's everyone doing on this project with just a few days left?
I finished my lip gloss, BB cream, and highlighter. I've been dedicated to using the blush and shadow trio, but haven't even managed to hit pan. I love the idea of project pan and will continue. I think I'm going to add in Naked 1 to get a little more variety.
This was such a good idea, and I'm really pleased with the progress I've made. I don't think a day has gone by since we started this challenge when I haven't used at least one of these products, which is kind of amazing given the size of my stash.
-Bobbi Brown lipstick in Plum Shimmer Down to maybe 4-5 more uses--will definitely finish before NYE -Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner in Black Scotch Won't finish, but is 80% empty now, which means I won't feel guilty about tossing what's left on January 1 -Benefit Rockateur blush I've now hit pan on all but the very edges of the box. -Bobbi Brown cream shadow in Smoky Topaz Very deep crater in this one now--probably 70% used. Another one I will toss guilt-free. -Bobbi Brown cream shadow in Velvet Plum Sadly I've used this one the least, and it's still only around 30% used. I'm tossing it anyway because it's old, but I wish I'd used it more when I first bought it because it's really pretty
Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation- Finished Tarte Smooth Operator setting powder- Finished Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronzer- Mostly finished, this is a summer shade for me so I'm done for now. I'll probably repress and finish it next year. TheBalm Fit eyeshadow- Mostly Finished, I got tired of a rose gold eye. Maybelline lipstick Touch of Spice- Used a few times, I love the shade but I just can't stick to one color for long. Tarte deluxe lipstick in Cabana Boy- Decluttered, loved the color but didn't care for the formula. Below is the progress photos on the bronzer and eyeshadow.

I failed at this but I've been working from home almost everyday so I'm not wearing much makeup. However I'm ready to start new for 2017. Another challenge?
I failed miserably with the eye shadow palettes. I used them every day for over a month and then got sick of them. I'm doing well with my Mary Loumanizer highlighter, however I feel like it will NEVER hit pan. Still working on the mascara...I don't think I have much left there to use up. MAC syrup,.....yeah totally forgot about it!!

I think I did okay... Well I failed on the lip products. I gave up on panning the clinique lipstick, and I destashed the gloss. The gloss kept turning my lips fuchsia. I'm on my last couple uses of the eyebrow pencil. I hit pan on two eyeshadows and made a serious dent in another. I've also finished a lot of samples.
I've had the doe foot applicator for the serum corrector come up nearly dry a few times, though there's definitely still product in there.
I can see more pan on my Mood Exposure blush.
I've nearly used up my Jean Queen lipstick. Like, less than 1/4" left.
I've been bad about using Naked Smoky and the Chanel liner.
My update: the serum corrector is nearly done, but there's definitely still a tiny bit in there. I also realized I don't love the way it wears, which is part of why I haven't finished it.
Mood exposure is pretty much toast. There's a little around the edges that I've been using but it needs to be replaced.
Haven't finished Jean Queen lipstick yet either, that's about the same.
The Chanel liner is still going strong but I'm using it semi-regularly. It's significantly shorter now.
I've still been terrible at using Naked Smoky. Since I got the MUFE nudes palette that's most of what I've been using, with MAC malt in my crease. Oops.
