I saw the trailer last weekend when I went to see The Magnificent 7. I felt all of my emotions welling up then. My friends and I all looked at each other and we're like, we'll be seeing that.

August Wilson is my favorite playwright. In college we read Fences, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and Joe Turner's Come and Gone - all fantastic. And then after college, I had the opportunity to work on a production of The Piano Lesson.
I am so excited they are making Fences a movie. Read the play!
Have you guys ever seen the comparison videos with James Earl Jones doing that scene with Courtney Vance and then Denzel doing the scheme worth whomever played his son, I don't remember? The audience reactions are very different. That is one of many reasons I'm interested in seeing it, too see how the audience reacts to that scene. Not the same since it's not live, of course, but still.
