I just got an email from the school district about this AS I was reading this post. The clowns are watching me...
This has got to be teenage boys in that super awkward weirdo stage between like 12-15 when they think really NOT funny things are hilarious. I love my little cousin but I do not get his 8th grade Internet meme humor.

My 16 year old sister said 2 schools in the area were on lock down today due to clown sightings. I'm watching the news now as she can tend to be dramatic but this is ridiculous.
One local ( to me) college was on lock down because there was a clown who was possibly armed walking around campus. Another one also had a sighting but no lockdown because no weapon was spotted.
A local college was asking students to stay inside because of clown threats. There was a threat to a high school locally where it was said there would be attacks on Friday by clowns. Now the second one.. that could be kids spreading that rumor not sure but the college that was on the news.
I am in MA
If the college was on RI, they stated on Facebook that the message to stay inside was not from them and some else did it and there was no threats.

Just today a clown "went after/attacked" someone near campus housing. So I guess some are causing issues. I have also heard of some that were jumping in front of moving cars to scare people.
Another reason I hide from the outside world. I have an irrational fear of clowns.
My son asked me last night if there were really clowns luring kids into the woods behind the high school (that is next to his middle school). He said he heard it from school. But from other kids so I think here it's just rumors.
This is the kind of stuff going around. I feel bad for law enforcement who has to deal with all of this
I teach at one of these schools named in this threat. Police are in the building for the rest of the week. So infuriating.
SD goes to one of those school districts mentioned and they also have police on site at every school. The email made it sound like it was until further notice. Sigh...
So, someone posted on my local community Facebook page last night that there was a clown sitting and the stupid person actually chased the poor lady all the way up to her house. This is getting out of hand.

Are they? My dd's school is on there and they didn't cancel school today but am glad they stepped up security. Unbelievable.
It was pretty low key today, but there were several unmarked cars around during drop off and pick up. Tomorrow will have a heavier presence but still business as usual. A 12 year old in Bucks Co was charged with threats over this, so no one is actually worried. Just really annoyed.
Two schools around my neighborhood were on lockdown for a bit today One was an elementary school, luckily not where my kids are, and the other was a middle school.
I'm a teacher and am SOO sick of hearing about this. My students will talk about nothing but the clown, the clown threats, the clown they"definitely saw" on the way to school, etc. One parent was even so worried that he called the school to request that his daughter stay inside during gym because our school is near a little wooded area and he was worried about the clowns....
Well we had an increased police presence at my school today and an email from the superintendent. Some kids have (false) claims that they were chased by a clown at a park last night and at band practice at school. Both turned out to be made up. I think there was an online threat too. I just told DH last night: how long until my HS kids are making up clown stories to try and get school called off.
The whole nationwide thing does have me a bit freaked; I do think most of these are going to be unsubstantiated threats. And I also understand why schools have to take them all seriously.
Police investigating sighting of armed ‘creepy clown’ in Malverne
A Malverne High School student was taking a short cut when a person wearing a clown costume and holding a knife approached him
A Malverne High School student got the scare of his life on Wednesday. According to the Nassau County Police Department, the 14-year-old was taking a short cut through an alleyway near the school when he was suddenly approached from behind by a person wearing a purple clown costume, a white mask and a red wig, holding a large kitchen knife.
The victim immediately took off running and escaped, but local residents say the news is very concerning.
The suspect is described as being around six feet tall, with a thin build.
We live close to the school, so I'm a bit freaked out by this....
Well my school was affected today. A student made a threat online and was arrested; we were on lockdown. Ugh. This all sucks. (I guess in their threat they associated themselves with the clowns or something).
