We are going to go here I think on our second park day
It is at a green level right now and the hours are 9-8 with Fantasmic show at 7:30 as of now I believe.
I am not sure if we will eat at the hotel in the room, somewhere else before RD or at the park. Any reccomendations?
Also not sure what we will do for lunch - what are the options Sci Fi and 50s diner? Neither of those are blowing me away.
We are going to try to get the Fantasmic dinner special (should I try for lunch instead)? I was thinking Hollywood and Vine but is it just meh? or is the Mama Melrose equally meh?
7:30 show is kind of late for my crew but I think the show is only 30 minutes or so so we could be back at the hotel around 8:30/9 I hope?? Realistic?
Also would you leave the park after/around lunch and make it a pool day ad comeback for the Fantasmic show?
I love this park and go with adults so it may not be helpful. I usually do a few half days there during a 7 day trip. We get there in the afternoon maybe around 2 or 3. Fast Pass ToT, and RnR. Do Star Tours. We catch some of the fun shows like Indian Jones or Beauty and the Beast. Catch the Great Movie Ride (there usually isn't much of a line) and Muppet Vision 3D. We always do a Fantasmic Dinner package. I know lots of people don't like Brown Derby, but I've had nothing but fabulous food and service there. We also take a few breaks to get drinks in the "living room" bar at 50's Prime Time. We usually skip Toy Story because the line is insane and I couldn't get a fast pass for it.
We usually do the above twice at the park, with the second time not doing Fantasmic but having dinner at 50's prime time.
I think I have asked about every other park now so I might as well continue asking questions
Sorry if you all are so annoyed by all my questions by now - SORRY! (I AM EXCITED!)
Ok so tell me your ideal HS day? RD FP plus TSMM, Star Tours and TOT. I don't ride RnR because it hurts my head but if I DID I would ride that at RD. Now at RD I ride TSMM and then come back to ride again with my FP plus. Sometimes I see a show. I usually grab lunch at Starring Rolls and get a dessert there too. This is soooo a half day park for me. BUT I haven't seen the Star Wars fireworks yet, so it may become a whole day park for me ( or an afternoon/ evening park) soon.
Do you guys think fantasmic dinner is worth it? Worth hanging out at the park at?
Good show or just pop in if you feel like it type thing?
Do do most people do sit down or qs lunch? I haven't heard many rave reviews about the lunch qs there
do people just just grab snacks and do a character breakfast?
Im not sure what to do this day
breakfastin the room fast breakfast at the hotel at kona kafe breakfast at the park - whatever the character meal is? I suddenly forget
if b fast in room where lunch? 50 diner or sci fi or is there something better? Am I looking to waste time with a sit down or will we want to grab and go or should I do fantasmic lunch and head back tomresort to swim nap and come back for the show?
Orrrrr skip fantasmic and eat dinner at Epcot or a hotel or ?

Our itinerary this summer... - RD and head straight for Jedi sign up - Great Movie Ride - Star Wars Launch Bay, Chewy & Ren - TSMM with FP - Jedi Training (10:10 lineup, 10:40 show) - Star Tours, twice - Muppets 3D - Lunch at Mama Melrose - Character M&Gs - Voyage of the Little Mermaid - Tower of Terror - RnRC with rider swap - Disney Junior Characters - Character Palooza - Frozen Sing Along - TSMM, twice
We didn't have time for the Indy Show or B&tB, so we need to make time for them next trip.

Star Wars in 5 plus right? I think we are too young this trip and my kids don't know sw yet
i forgot about frozen my kids would love that
is that hard to do, need fp?
Do you head right home at park close or feel like you need dinner?
We are just taking a relaxed, play-it-by-ear approach to this park, except for our lunch reservation there, and a Toy Story fast pass. I don't even remember what our other two are! I should probably be more on the ball for this trip.

Is fantasmic mic not really that fantastic
teamhayes - yes, I believe Jedi Training is 5-12 years. My DS is 8 and loved it! My five year old DD didn't want to do it (maybe next time). We stayed at DHS from open until about 7pm. Lunch held us all day long...I think we just split a QS meal for dinner when we returned to the resort. We didn't stay for Fantasmic or fireworks, but we had a perfect view of them over the lake at CSR.
We loved Sci-Fi as well. I think my kids were afraid to go to the 50s diner because they didn't want a lecture to finish their meals - lol!
TOT, RRC, Muppets, and Star Tours are all our must dos. We usually spend a whole day in this park, but my big kids are older, so they like the thrill rides. We always do the Great Movie Ride as well.
We really enjoyed the sidewalk entertainment there - the comedy bits, the old Hollywood feel. My kids absolutely loved Mulch, Sweat and Shears, and are so sad that they aren't around anymore (although they do perform on occasion at the House of Blues, I've been told).
We did Toy Story once, but the lineup was too long the next time, and Jedi training was amazing.
It gets bad reviews, but I really like ABC Commissary. We ate there twice in my last trip. One day I had steak with mashed potatoes and the other day I had salmon with broccoli. they were both pretty good (at least for a casual restaurant). I also like the burgers at Rosie's on Sunset Blvd.
ETA: actually the food I had at both QS places was equal or slightly better quality to Sci-Fi.
