So, not only can he not name a world leader he admires, he can't name a world leader he doesn't (or shouldn't) admire.
(Dude, the guy's name is in the news on a very regular basis, whether it be for politics, dapper dressing or bad hair. Do you not ever open a paper or web browser?)
Dude, Gary, you're going to get quizzed on foreign policy every day for the next five weeks. Maybe it's time to study up!
My exact thoughts. At a minimum he should have recognized that quizzing Gary Johnson on IR 101 shit is now a thing and studied up. For that lack of acknowledgement alone I can't take this guy seriously.
In an interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday, the former New Mexico governor argued that a deep foreign policy expertise is a pathway to starting wars.
"You know what? The fact that somebody can dot the I’s and cross the T's on a foreign leader’s geographic location then allows them to put our military in harm’s way," Johnson said.

HAHAHAHA What?! No, that isn't how that works, Gary.

We're so embroiled in the Middle East because we know eeeeeeeeeverything about it. Sounds legit!

I just can't with Gary. He's run out of chances to not sound like an idiot. He's so butthurt about the debate, but if he had teamed up with McMullin and Stein for a 3rd party debate he would have gotten exposure and a chance to talk about his ideas. He could have created an opportunity to talk about his platform. Instead he complained about not getting into the other debate and embarrasses himself every time he opens his damn mouth.
Good lord. Even with as little policy talk as there was in the first presidential debate, I don't think he could have followed along. This man is not that smart.
I can't say anything about his idiotic position on being knowledgeable on foreign policy, but Johnson does know the name of the leader of North Korea. He declined to answer the question because he felt insulted by the question. He shouldn't be; his gaffes pretty much invited this line of questioning but the reporter was trying to goad him and Johnson was refusing to engage.
But it is privilege on his part to think he can just brush off not knowing about Aleppo or being able to name a foreign leader he admired, and to get defensive about people making fun of him for that.

OR, as how it's being largely taken, he actually doesn't know but is now playing a game. He's had two huge gaffes. He needs to understand that people GENUINELY question what he knows or doesn't know about world politics. to turn this into "I'm so insulted! I refuse to answer"... he's not helping himself. As even this post is showing!!

Seriously. It happened the first time – okay, I can roll with it. But it keeps. happening. The second time, I wondered who was dropping the ball on his media briefings. Now I wonder if he can even read.
Still sticking with my idea that once he didn't get in the debate he decided to try and send some of his voters to HRC.
I think he saw an opportunity this election to possibly force the R party more libertarian (and it may still happen) because Trump is so terrible and really cut into Trump's numbers. But it's not really playing out like that and he didn't get to 15%. So now it's time to lose some voters and get only 5% for federal funding next time around, lol.

FWIW I have two college educated male friends in their 20s who lean Republican in Ohio who have switched to HRC after Aleppo, let alone the rest of this GJ disaster. They want small government but they're liberal on social issues.
