I have been saying this. I briefly talked to my mom about possibly doing it together. But the stuff is so ugly. I did get her a pair of black leggings and she really likes them. Like I said before with the extra money I could send DD to whatever school I wanted. Even with threejs daughter.

LOL!!! Even without you selling ugly leggings, she can come!!! Open house on Nov. 12!!
Well, why do you guys have to like it to sell it? Is this the whole doing something you love thing or do you just feel like you can't do a good job of selling something you don't like? I guess I am missing it, if I were interested in doing it, it wouldn't really matter to me if I liked the clothing or not.

I'm really not into the patterns and don't really get the love. I'm also not getting the fit, based on photos, but there must be something I'm missing?
If you're interested, I think the start up is high and there might be waiting lists. Is the return really $4k/month?

It's a lot of time to not be doing something I believe in also I'm a bad liar. I can't move stuff I think is ugly. Lolol worst saleswoman ever.
Also I'm too lazy for what's involved. I can barely get shit in the mail when I'm doing returns. Heaven help if someone has paid me and is waiting on it. I'm too much of a flake for things like this.
MH and I saw a booth at a local street fair a week or two ago and I told him that was the clothing company that I had told him about. He's like "That's ugly, why do people wear that?" If MH says its ugly, you know it's bad. He never has an opinion on clothing.

Now, ION know about anybody else, but I could not in good conscience sell anyone some shit I'd never wear myself. Because, see that's MY name on the line.
OMG! Look at what I bought from NITAX!!! ...
And then folks be like ... UM DAT SHIT DON'T MATCH!

You aren't. The fit is really odd on some of the items- that was one of the things that turned me off. And no one ever really acknowledged it either which annoyed me. It was all fangirling.
I won't lie though- tried to get my sister to go in with me last year after watching a meltdown over Halloween leggings. Watching grown women act like that smelled like money. It doesn't matter what I think about the clothes ( and the leggings are pretty comfortable, I'm meh on most everything else) but there is a market for overpriced leggings and weird fitting shirts. I missed it . Half my local mom group now sells it.

So, in short ...
See I don't understand this combination at all. I can't even say much b/c I don't have my pre-baby body back so I'm kind of in a frump when it comes to clothes. I mean can you just put together whatever you want? Do people not think this looks odd? It's not even flattering on her at ALL.
Yeah I would never be able to move product. I would be hysterically laughing while I packaged orders and then they would end up sitting in my car for a month. I don't have to love everything but I would want to sell something I want to wear.

Wouldn't bother me in the least. People like what they like. Who am I to say? I'm going to wear what I like regardless, and so should they, and if it comes down to me or someone else making the money, my preference is me .
Anyway, alls I know is that what I often sense in these threads is disdain mixed with a heavy dose of wistfulness. While some of you guys are talking about how you would sell it BUT for how ugly it is, the market is only getting more and more saturated. Personally, I've watched more than one person sit on the sidelines contemplating and miss the money train (not LLR, but other opportunities). Don't be thatguy--it is decidedly not MM! All of this. I could see someone asking me what I think and I'd be, "girl, i guess". Stank face and all.
And I have to think long and hard before I buy something. Even if I change my mind it has a 90% chance of never going back.

My issue is it seems like every who sells it also wears it 90-100% of the time. And then I would be selling it to people and they would be like why don't you wear it. And then I would have to say because it is ugly because I am an awful sales person.

I haven't seen one person irl wearing any of these (I'd pee myself laughing if I did). Each item looks hideous to me. I saw pictures of my cousin's wife and her co-workers wearing llr and they looked like women wearing girls' clothing. It was all yellow and so incredibly ugly. I have no idea how they didn't see how ridiculous they all looked. The dresses specifically don't seem to be cut for a female body.
I have two dresses from them that are very atypical (read: non fug) prints and they're cute but the quality is just OK and it's too hard to find the non fug prints. I think if I'm going to buy dresses with slightly obnoxious prints, I think I'd rather spend my money on Boden which can be had for not too much more when they have clearance sales
I guess I see what some of you are saying, but as far as I can tell (only from this board, because I've never heard of these products anywhere else), WOC are sitting idly by tsk-tsking, while white women are diving in head first and making several thousands of dollars a month. So often, we stand down because of a dozen factors, not the least of which is just being conservative as hell, and miss the boat. It's one thing not to want to do it at all (this I understand, because I would never--although I do have a knack for getting people interested in pretty much anything lol), but like I said--it's that air of wistfulness that makes me want to encourage the reluctant. But if it doesn't apply, let it fly .

I completely agree with you and that is why I continue to consider it whenever they have these posts. I know one person who sells but she lives in another (read whiter) county. No one I know IRL has heard of it. I do see people wearing patterned leggings and stuff, but I don't think they would pay LLR prices. I just assume they get them from for really cheap. I don't know I am going to have to look into this more. I would definitely need a partner or 2 though.

I consider myself stylish. I don't consider myself a hypocrite. I can support people trying to turn a buck. I'm not going to put my name to it to talk shit about it later on a message board.
So I wonder if what we are discussing is where the opportunity space is.
What is the type of clothing that women like us and our friends would wear. I know I see things that you ladies wear that I think "I like that, I want that skirt, pants that fits my booty and looks cute".
@kirkette! Make this happen!
This is a good point. It does get into having to curate, if not manufacture, a collection, but by God, if you find something that WOC really want to buy, you will never go broke (see, hair products lol).
I'm not opposed to the concept but all the clothing I've seen posted on here from them would a bag of nopes for me. @natariru those leggings would be cute for lounging at home though

Yeah, it's not that it's that I have a conservative mind-set, it's that the clothes are ugly and for ME to sell you clothing (as I have worked retail before) I need to like it and would wear it myself. Now, if it were something that wasn't ugly as homemade sin, I'd be inclined to sell it.
But, since it's ugly and I wouldn't be caught dead in it, Imma pass.

I promise you I am not trying to convince you. I'm actually not trying to convince anyone to sell it, which I feel like is the vibe you may be getting. I could probably sell ice to an Eskimo, but I have no interest in selling anything, least of selling someone on selling something . However, this is not the first time this has been discussed, and like I said, when it comes up, there's this consistent theme of "This money sure is tempting, but the clothes suck." I've never seen you say that part of you was interested, ergo, my post was not to you (or anyone else who has never mentioned considering selling LLR). I merely think that the ladies who are thinking about it, but their distaste for the clothing is holding them back, should really simply consider that particular hindrance. There are people who sell cigarettes who don't smoke. Something doesn't have to be for a person for her/him to profit from it. So that is my purpose in the thread, is to present that question for those who have mentioned before that they would do it (which I have now done). For those that haven't mentioned it, haven't considered it, don't think about it, don't know about it...my posts have not been for y'all lol. Save
Truth. I only use Shea Moisture stuff on my head and my kids' heads. My hair has never been more fabulous. *curly hair flip*
Yes!
I have a white friend whose daughter has curly hair. I let her use some Shea Moisture and she loved it. She said "I looked at it but it was so expensive".
I have never heard a black woman say that about hair products lol. We will try anything to make our hair look good.
I used to complain about the price of Phytorelaxer when I was relaxed, but I still bought it faithfully lol. Save

Do we know people are making that much money though? Part of the whole MLM thing and attracting people is to tell people how they can get make all this money doing it but really that is not a widespread phenomena for most. I would curious about the profits the company makes from the number of people investing 9000 and not ultimately being successful in moving the product.

Very true. Per newnamesameperson's post, some people have to be struggling or failing for sure.
Black women who sell Mary Kay and Avon seem to make a killing from it. Hair and makeup products are definitely the niche for WOC, imo. Those are the items that really do need to be tailored "for us." I think I would buy products like this via direct sale if they were of decent quality. As far as LLR goes, I actually don't find it all that hideous. It's not my style, but it's better than what I see on most bodies every day, if I'm being honest.
