I'm dreading taking baby roo on her first flights at the end of the year.
... But if I ever go anywhere CF I don't want to deal with someone else's offspring
Hey, Mils! I wasn't sure if anyone came on here anymore but had to post this news since I have vented here in the past about this issue. Good to know there's a little life left on this board, even if it's dying a slow death!
I'm going to hope all is well with your family on your first trip, and I will say that when it is a very small baby, I tend to have more patience with this kind of thing. I know that babies don't know what's going on and the altitude adjustments can cause reactions. My most recent flight issue was with a 5-6 year old kid who was old enough to know how to behave in public (or I would HOPE) and it was on an overnight red-eye flight, which to me should be treated as a "sleeping flight" for all passengers with a respect and understanding that others will be sleeping. And then the mom had the nerve to half-apologize and say her kids had both been on 60 flights in their lives and "were usually not this bad". For a kid that had been on more flights than ME, I would have expected better behavior on a frigging overnight flight!
Of course, I may just be the "lucky" person who always gets the ONE unruly child in the seat right behind me. Or children can smell my fear of this happening and decide to bring it to action. There have been many well-behaved babies and children on other flights, so I do understand that not all kids are a problem.... but the ONE problem kid can turn this issue into a major irritation for some of us!
