I CANT GET RID OF THEM!!! All of our pets are treated, but my nana lets her cats out daily, which she will not stop no matter what I say. I guess some laid eggs before they bit the cats and died, and in 2 days I got over 130 bites which I am allergic to. We bombed the house, doc gave me a cream to put on my whole body last night (not sure what it was for but it was gross). We vacuumed EVERYTHING after bombing and spent hours cleaning... and just now I had a flea jump across my arm and back off!!!! None of the animals have even been upstairs. OMG I'm SO frustrated! How do I get rid of these dam things?!

Fleas have a long life cycle, it can take 3-4 months of consecutive treatment to kill them all. The adults will be killed but you will continue to have eggs hatching, larvae etc for months, regardless if the cat goes outside. What are you using as treatment? Advantage seems to work best in our area, its a once a month topical treatment. Bombs dont' work well...the chemicals go up in the air and settle down ON TOP of things like tables and couches, not underneath where the fleas are hiding. Area treatment sprays work much better b/c you can get under furniture, into corners etc. All pets must be treated and vaccuum daily and wash bedding often. 130 flea bites on you?! Thats crazy, usually fleas avoid humans and go directly to the pets. Are you sure they are fleas? Last year and this year we've seen huge numbers of fleas (I work at a vets office). Products such as advantage and frontline will guarantee their product if you can prove you bought the product from a vet hospital and have used it on all animals in the household for 3 or 4 consecutive months. If you pass both those criteria they will pay to have an exterminator come and treat your house. Good luck, unfortunately its just going to take time...

Thank you. Yes, I have over 130 bites. I have NO idea why they are loving me SO MUCH, but they apparently are. I went to see the doc, who confirmed they were bug bites, and the only thing we have seen/known about in the house is fleas....

Another simple trick to killing adult fleas is to put a shallow bowl of soapy water on the floor under a nightlight. The fleas are attracted to the light, jump into the soapy water and drown. Won't take care of the whole problem, but will cut down on numbers. Since you are getting bit so much I might try this in your bedroom
You also have to vacuum EVERY day. Make sure you get all the base boards, under furniture, etc. When you are done, take out the bag and put it in a ziploc bag. Make sure it's sealed! I know it's a pain but it's necessary.
