I haven't been to Universal in many years. My impression is that it's best for older kids and teens, or maybe younger kids if they're into Harry Potter. Is that right? We decided to extend our upcoming trip to Orlando by 2 days, and my H was thinking about checking out Universal because we both love HP, but I'm not sure if my 6-year old would have much to do. He's not into HP (yet) and doesn't like thrill rides. If it wouldn't be good for him, we can add on two more days at Disney.
I took my older 4 year old in August (she just turned 5 this month.) She loved it! She did every ride she was tall enough for (she is 44 inches) including Skull Island. But she is a fearless one and probably not your typical almost 5 year old.
I did leave my 20 month old at the hotel with my mom though. There was nothing at US/IOA that she could ride.
