Number of times done/won NaNo: Participated 11 times, won 7 times
This year's project (title/genre/summary): Pure Imagination. It's about five teenagers who are all battling their individual demons in real life. They discover that in their dreams, they all go to this perfect paradise where magic exists and they can escape their demons (and they are in each others' dreams as well). But nothing is perfect, so their demons end up coming into their paradise with them.
Do you write for fun or in hopes of publishing?: I do NaNo for fun. I have other projects I work on the rest of the year with the goal of publishing. But if something I like enough to pursue making publishable comes out of NaNo, then that's even better!
Anything else writing related: My author Facebook page is here. And my author website/blog is here. (Hopefully, I'll get better at updating both.)
This year's project (title/genre/summary): my main female and male meet at a winery where she works in the shenandoah wine country. he's thru hiking the ATC but stops for his best friend's wedding in the area. he's hiking the trail to get through a personal issue and they write each other letters where he slowly reveals what that is.
still working on some subplots... trying to figure out some more drama.
Do you write for fun or in hopes of publishing? both, i've written 5 novels and only felt 1 was good enough to publish (and it was in May). The other 3 I won't ever publish, but 1 is currently being edited for hopeful publishing.
Anything else writing related: I'm not nearly as prepared as I was in prior years (plot outlines, character charts, research on the area). I'm 10 weeks pregnant and really struggling to make it through the day so I'm still hoping to do NaNo but realize it may not be finished during November. I just took out an ATC hiking guide from the library and hope to get familiar with it in the next 2 weeks.
I'm so excited though! I'll be going to a local write-in on Saturday's from 10-12, the evening weeknight ones are too tough to do with a kiddo and pregnancy.
Number of times done/won NaNo: Participated and won the last 3 years
This year's project (title/genre/summary): The Lost Cause/ tentative title. Genre/ Mystery. Paranormal mystery centering around a cottage on Lake Michigan, near the Straits of Mackinac. There will be a property dispute and a family curse that results in tragedy for each generation of those of the bloodline inheriting the house. The main character will be the only living descendant and the last blood of the family.
Do you write for fun or in hopes of publishing? Mostly for fun. Editing has not been a priority for me, but I hope to at some point.
Anything else writing related: I spent the summer writing as often as I could, short poems but not really any stories. I still wanted to form a practice habit.

NaNo name: Anastasia
Number of times done/won NaNo: This will be year 9 (!?) for me. I've won 8 times and hope to continue my streak.
This year's project (title/genre/summary): Tentatively working with the title The Group of Nine. It is contemporary/urban fantasy dealing with elemental magic. The MCs are part of an elite group trying to solve a mystery throughout it and it will have what is hopefully a pretty shocking ending. It will be book one in a series I have been working on in some form - basically planning, writing backstory, etc - since 2010. It's a fantasy world with a lot going on, but thankfully since it mostly takes place in real places I don't have to design entire cities, towns, and a map as well.
Do you write for fun or in hopes of publishing? I hope to publish someday. I have done a variety over the years with various success and varying levels of desire to try to perfect the stories, but I will probably get back to what I did in 2008/2009 and Camp 2014 eventually.
Anything else writing related: I have been really enjoying looking through word crawls and the like on the NaNo forums this year. I even did one on the 2016 Dumpster Fire (it was requested and my "home" is CEP so I figured why not) and have a few fandom based prompt/crawl Bingos I will probably post at one point. I believe it was incogneato who asked about writing blogs and hope to get started on one of those if people have tips.

NaNo name: I honestly cannot remember ha!
Number of times done/won NaNo: I've done it three times, one once.
This year's project (title/genre/summary): I still haven't decided.
ACK! I have two good contenders and one fall back.
1. Neither Rosina Hardegray nor Evan McCallister were looking for love. Their marriage, like so many frontier weddings, was one of opportunity and convenience. Rosina and her children needed a home. Evan needed a partner and helper. And yet love is what they found. Would it be enough to get them through when Rosina's past invades? (That might be the lamest thing I've ever written lolol)
2. Mary Theodosia Kent did exactly as she was bid. She sparkled bright her first year out among the ton and landed herself a very wealthy, albeit elderly duke. The marriage, short and unstable, ended as expected with that man's death and from there, Theo has done exactly as she wished. She's travelled to Europe, carried on discreet affairs with titled and not so titled gentlemen, worn the brightest of inappropriate colors, been refused entry into Almack's and has become incredibly bored for it.
And so it was only natural that she should find herself goaded into placing a unwise wager on the odds that she could acquire and keep the attentions of the notorious Modest Marquess, known throughout the ton for his austere lifestyle and high morals.
And if either of those fails, then I will probably just reboot the first NaNo I ever started. Charlotte is the featured singer at a Manhattan night club circa 1965 who may have fallen into an affair with the undercover agent investigating her married underboss boyfriend. I reread it recently and it's inconsistent. I'd like to start over completely without referring back to the old one and see if I can work it out.
Do you write for fun or in hopes of publishing? Mostly A with the faint hope of B
NaNo name: my actual name, so I won't share it here!
Number of times done/won NaNo: 2008-2014 (won 2008-2013)
This year's project (title/genre/summary): I'm currently revising one of my earlier novels, but I don't think I'll start something new this November.
Do you write for fun or in hopes of publishing?: I actually just published my very first NaNo novel, from way back in 2008! It required some major editing, expanding, revising, etc., but I'm really proud of it!
Anything else writing related: Just because, if you want to check out my novel, it's available on Amazon! It's historical fiction, set in Renaissance Florence, with murder, plot-twists, hidden identities, and a bunch of fun stuff!
NaNo name: scootm Number of times done/won NaNo: 2/2 This year's project (title/genre/summary): This year I'm trying to write a story based on a prompt I found over the summer. The condensed version of the prompt is: "Humans quickly get a reputation among the interplanetary alliance and the reputation is this: when going somewhere dangerous, take a human." Do you write for fun or in hopes of publishing? A little bit of both. I really enjoy writing, but would love to one day publish. Anything else writing related: I have my fingers crossed that the planning I did last month will be enough to make it to 50,000 words. I tried pants-ing it last year and struggled to reach that number. I've been able to add quite a bit to the story since then and need to find the time to finish it and start editing to see what it looks like.
Can't believe Nano starts Tuesday... good luck everyone!
NaNo name: I'm not officially signed up this year, and I don't remember my old user name.
Number of times done/won NaNo: 3/0 - I always lose it right around Thanksgiving, usually because we go out of town and I don't have the option to write that weekend, and then I can't get it my mojo back.
This year's project (title/genre/summary): Sorry, I'm paranoid/cagey/dodgy and only talking about my current project in person, and I still need to figure out how to write a blurb that won't give away the bombshell too early. But I will say it's science fiction.
Do you write for fun or in hopes of publishing? Mostly for fun, but I would like to get published some day, that would be awesome.
Anything else writing related: I'm incedibly fortunate to live in an area with lots of local YA authors, and so for the last several years I've gotten to participate in writing workshops they teach (for free!) and gotten lots of great advice. I'm also currently reading Stephen King's On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, and I'm seeing a lot of overlap in his advice and the advice from the local authors, so I'm starting to "build my writer's toolbox" -- my biggest pitfall is my laziness.

Do you mind sharing how you find free writing workshops? I think I could benefit greatly from something like that.
EnchantedSoul, check with your local libraries, or if you live in a metro area also the libraries in the surrounding areas. In my case there is one author who kind of spearheads things (and has now for several years) and she brings in her friends and contacts to teach the classes.
incogneato, this won't help you find writer buddies, but it may help you feel better to know that most of the advice you get for writing novels seems pretty applicable across the board for adult and YA books, it's mostly just phrase/word choice for when you are writing for YA audiences, and making sure that you keep your sexual situations and violence at the appropriate age levels. In the workshops I attend we have people who are writing a little bit of everything from graphic novels, to memoirs, to novels, and I figure we can all learn from each other regardless.
As I mentioned, I'm kind of half-doing Nano because of my schedule. I like the motivation to write and have wanted to do it. I'll do what I can.
NaNo name: Erm, it's very similar to this one.
Number of times done/won NaNo: I've tried it once but didn't finish because the computer I was using crashed and couldn't be backed up. I'm basically revisiting that story because while I'm really open to writing all kinds of things, I feel like I can't move on from that story until I finish it.
This year's project (title/genre/summary): It's a coming of age romance set in Nebraska. It's not the most ground-breaking plot but I'm trying to write it beautifully. It's a lingering romance and the characters keep staying with me. I can't remember what I titled it before and I might change that. I started by titling the first chapter which I am working on.
Do you write for fun or in hopes of publishing? This is really for fun but I would be open to publishing at some point. I've always loved writing and was very much encouraged with it. I'll walk before I run though.
