I'll give you the TL;DR. The FBI records vault is where the FBI posts things that have been released in response to FOIA requests. They post a bunch of stuff all the time, but have a lot of discretion to delay responding to FOIA requests and the like. Well, TODAY they just decided to post a whole bunch of shit relating to a 15 year old investigation of the Clinton foundation and the Bill Clinton's pardon of Mark Rich.
As if that's not weird enough, they also decided on October 30, 2016 to start using their Twitter account, which was last used over a year ago, in September 2015. The first thing they tweeted after a year haitus?
They tweeted out a few other random announcements of new things being added to the vault that day, including these:
Then they tweeted out announcements of more things being added to the vault - two relating to the 2015 Baltimore protests and a bunch relating to FBI policy and procedure. Then nothing, until five hours ago, when they tweeted this.
Yes. In addition to it being verified, if you look through its history, it has to be real. I can't see why someone would have set this up years and years ago to execute this plan.
I thought about the possibility of it being hacked, but the problem isn't just the announcements on twitter, it's the timing of the release of the FBI's documents on the FBI site.
Thanks, ESF, for bumping this and linking the Newsweek article. I swear I feel like this whole election is a long nightmare of crazy. I don't even know what to think.
What's really disturbing about all this is we not only have a foreign govt trying to disturb an election, we now have a govt agency trying to do the same.
I'm floored. I just don't know what to say.
History has its eyes on us.
(I don't want to hear it; if ever there was a time for a cheeky rap musical about the founding of the US NOW IS THAT TIME!)
