new job!

So this is kind of a funny update, but many of you remember when I was really looking for a new job about 2-3 years ago. I looked solidly for about a year, and finally got one that was amazing. But in the meantime, about two years ago, I thought I was going to get an amazing job but it took forever and then didn't pan out. In fact, I had to dart out of the big GTG we had right before Christmas at rock-n-voll's house into the bitter cold to take a cold outside about it for a bit (if that rings any bells). 

Fast forward, and now I have an even better new job at that same organization! I'm super excited about the opportunity, and while I'm a little sad to be leaving my present organization (its really great), the new position just has so much more potential for my long term career prospects that it would have been folly to turn it down. Plus its a super short commute from my house!

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well! miss you all!!

I don't actually start my new job for a few weeks, but it's just all so crazy. I really love my current organization but it got to be exhausting with the commute. I was called to come interview about the new opportunity and I'm so glad I did. I think with my new position I will have much more time to check in and see how everyone is doing.

Congrats! I too am going to be starting at a new institution in a couple weeks. I applied for the job back in July and they didn't start the interview process until end of September. The on campus portion ended up happening while I was on medical leave too so I had to get around on crutches that day, but it worked out cause I'm super excited for the position!

The shorter commute sounds awesome for you!
