DD's birthday is coming up and then of course it's Christmas. Beyond books and American Girl stuff I'm really struggling to come up with ideas for her.
She's not into Shopkins or Legos. I'm tempted to just wrap up a box full of tape and glue sticks and call it a day.

My 6, almost 7 year old is getting a kindle fire and the our generation kitchen set, because she wants the $250 AG one and that's not happening! Other than that I really don't know.

I don't blame her. Heck, *I* want the AG kitchen set!

DD is getting a karaoke machine as her big gift. She loves to sing/perform for her siblings She is also wanting: craft sets (like making bracelets, headbands, purses...), chapter books, barbies, crazy fort, and makeup (I bought one of those old school caboodles that I plan to fill with cheap makeup on the condition that it is only played with after school or on weekends when we are home!).
We got DD her new big girl bike when she turned 7. She likes her kindle, art and crafts, board games and Barbies. We got her a spirograh last year and she liked it although it was frustrating at times. She is now into shopkins so she is getting several sets for Christmas. She also wants a hatchanimal or whatever you call them and I am not thrilled about it. $50 for pretty much an egg and a stuffed animal.

She's super into animals, so books about animals, realistic looking stuffed animals, and any sort of science kit about animals is a huge hit.
Crafts are huge. Clay (that you can dry out and save your project), jewelry-making kits, any sort of project where you build something.
Puzzles (she's never really liked them, but she's now able to do some of the harder ones, so she thinks they're fun), board games (Chomp, Ticket to Ride, dice games (like this, but we usually play with our own rules and just get to 100).
Here are some things I have saved on Amazon as potential Christmas ideas:
If tape and glue sticks would make her happy, then do it! One year the kids got a ream of paper and they were thrilled. Washi tape is cute and fun and there are kid sets (tapefetti?) too. Glitter glue, colored glue sticks, Mr sketch scented markers. It's a theme, run with it!
There's a book series that my kids love(d) at that age, Magic Puppy. There Magic kitten and magic bunny series too.
My current 7yr old...Minecraft, drawing/journals, music, AG & Barbies, board games, anything Native American culture related (Playmobil, books, AG Kaya, etc).
So the dragon masters series of books is hugely popular. She also wants that fur real friends dragon that breathes fire (I think it looks silly though so I'm not buying it). And she really really wants a hatchimal, but damned if I can find them anywhere.
She was also going to get rollerblades for Christmas, but a neighbor gave her a pair of hand me down roller skates so that's out now.
New bedding?
A real digital camera? Nikon has a waterproof relatively kid friendly camera for about $100 on Amazon.
My almost 6yo is obsessed with game "Just Dance," so we will look for some type of gaming console for that. I'm also considering the Goldie Blox dollhouse.

Alarm clock?
I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday to look around and they had a huge display of Hatchimals. Only place I've seen them in weeks. Maybe check there?
My oldest has never been into dolls or little things like that. She love diaries with keys, notebooks, pens/markers/etc, real jewelry, clothing that should only be worn at coachella, makeup, and books.

What!?!? Oh that would be amazing! I almost. He led there over the weekend, but decided they probably didn't sell them there. Go figure!
